Assembly Operative \n Location: BasildonReporting To: Team Leader \n Assembly Operative - Aerospace Manufacturing \n We are recruiting for an experienced Assembly Operative to join a busy and growing aerospace manufacturing team in Basildon. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong engineering background who enjoys precision work and takes pride in producing high-quality components to exact specifications. \n Working as part of a dedicated production team, you will be responsible for assembling aircraft components to customer-defined standards, ensuring quality, safety, and delivery targets are consistently achieved. \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Assemble aircraft components in line with engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions.\n, • Carry out assembly of new parts using solid rivets, hand tools and air riveting equipment.\n, • Use drills, rivet presses, rivet guns and other specialist assembly equipment safely and effectively.\n, • Perform visual inspections of completed assemblies to ensure quality standards are met.\n, • Measure and check components using Verniers and other specialist measuring equipment.\n, • Adjust and prepare sheet metal parts ready for assembly.\n, • Apply sealants where required.\n, • Work with a variety of materials and surface finishes.\n, • Support continuous improvement activities across production processes.\n, • Maintain excellent housekeeping and comply with all health and safety requirements.\n\n What We're Looking For \n Essential Skills & Experience \n\n • Previous assembly experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.\n, • Experience using solid rivets and air riveting equipment.\n, • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.\n, • Experience using Vernier calipers and precision measuring tools.\n, • Knowledge of sheet metal adjustment and assembly techniques.\n, • Current experience using air tools such as drills, rivet presses and rivet guns.\n, • Experience applying sealants in a manufacturing environment.\n, • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.\n, • Excellent problem-solving skills.\n, • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.\n, • Experience using a variety of hand tools.\n\n Desirable \n\n • Aerospace manufacturing experience.\n, • Background in precision engineering environments.\n, • Knowledge of working with multiple aerospace materials and finishes.\n\n What Success Looks Like \n You will be measured against: \n\n • Achievement of quality standards.\n, • Production output targets.\n, • Flexibility across a range of assembly activities.\n, • Maintenance of health and safety standards.\n, • Adherence to housekeeping and workplace organisation requirements.\n\n Apply Today \n If you are an experienced Assembly Operative with a passion for precision engineering and a commitment to quality, we'd love to hear from you. \n Apply now to join a leading aerospace manufacturing environment where your skills and expertise will make a real difference. \n \n
