Job Description Job Title: Chef de Partie (option of 3 days off/week) Reporting To: Kitchen Manager/Head Chef Salary: Up to £28,000 per annum FTE Contract type: Fixed term contract, 2 years, full-time. Location: Poplar ** ** About The Felix Project The Felix Project is London's biggest food redistribution charity and the largest end-to-end food redistribution charity in Europe. Our vision is a London where no one goes hungry and good food is never wasted. We rescue surplus food from businesses, supermarkets, restaurants and farms. This food is nutritious, in-date, and safe and includes a high proportion of fresh vegetables, fruit, meat and fish. If we did not rescue this food, it would be at risk of going to waste. Instead, we deliver it free of charge to over one thousand charities across London. Here at Felix’s kitchen we turn some of that surplus food into Felix Meals, ready to eat meals which go out to people all across London. Are mantra for these meals is, nutritious & delicious food which not only feeds but hopefully brings a smile to the face of our consumers. We were founded in 2016 in memory of Felix Byam Shaw, by his father, entrepreneur Justin Byam Shaw. Purpose of the Job - Not your average CDP role, you will be a key team member in producing thousands of meals from our amazing surplus food to support hundreds of organisations all across London. - We believe in hard work and a fair and supportive environment. - We offer different shift patterns, all single shifts, and most of your weekends off. - As we are a production kitchen, we operate mainly during the day, which means you have the evenings to yourself. We have late afternoon shifts, but they don’t finish late. - We don’t work with fixed menus or recipes and we welcome a creative approach to food – as we work with surplus food, we never know what our cupboard and fridges are going to look like. If you thrive in thinking on your feet, want to create your own dishes and are ready to embrace a daily “pantry challenge”, this is the role for you. - We are a very diverse team and we are keen to get chefs keen to bring with them the flavours and recipes of their home countries, so we can match the diversity of our recipients.
