ABOUT THE ROLE The Head Pastry Chef is responsible for leading the pastry and gelato production operations, with a primary focus on the creation, innovation, and execution of high-quality gelato cakes. This role combines culinary artistry, operational leadership, and product development to ensure consistency, efficiency, and excellence. TASKS • Design and develop a range of premium gelato cakes, including seasonal and signature offerings, • Experiment with flavors, textures, and presentation techniques, • Manage the daily production of gelato cakes and related pastry items, • Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and presentation, • Develop and standardize recipes, portioning, and plating guidelines, • Monitor production schedules to meet demand and minimize waste, • Ensure proper storage and handling of gelato and perishable items, • Implement and maintain food safety and hygiene standards (e.g., HACCP compliance), • Manage inventory of ingredients, supplies, and equipment, • Oversee maintenance and proper use of gelato machines, blast freezers, and pastry equipment, • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, • Support marketing initiatives (e.g., new product launches, promotions, social media content) REQUIREMENTS • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or Senior Pastry Chef, • Strong expertise in gelato production and frozen desserts, • Leadership and team management skills, • Creativity and attention to detail, • Able to lead a fast-paced kitchen environment AVAILABILITY • Up to 45 hours / week - Usual schedule is Monday to Friday, • Location: 495 Fulham Palace Road, SW6 6SU, • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays BUDGET Yearly salary: £30.000,00 to £33.000,00 depending on experience
