WE’RE HIRING – CLEANING SUPERVISOR / TEAM LEADER
Tersus is looking for a reliable, organised and hands-on Cleaning Supervisor / Team Leader to join our growing team, working across new-build housing developments, show homes and sales environments.
The majority of the work is based across Cambridge and Stevenage, with occasional travel to other sites depending on operational requirements.
This is a fast-paced role where maintaining a high standard of cleaning while working efficiently and within set time scales is essential.
We are looking for somebody who can lead by example, work alongside the team when required, and make sure jobs are completed to a high standard, on time and in line with site requirements.
For the right person, there is genuine opportunity to grow with Tersus, take on increasing responsibility and develop into a more senior operational role as the company continues to expand.

The role will include:

• Supervising and supporting cleaning operatives across multiple sites
• Working alongside the team and completing cleaning when required
• Making sure jobs are completed within allocated time scales
• Maintaining consistently high cleaning standards in a fast-paced environment
• Checking completed work and carrying out quality control checks
• Organising daily workloads and ensuring scheduled work is completed
• Monitoring productivity and helping the team work efficiently
• Communicating with site teams, sales staff and Tersus management
• Reporting any problems, damage or additional work required
• Helping manage cleaning equipment, products and supplies
• Assisting with staff training and showing new team members the required standards
• Covering different developments when operationally required

Cleaning work can include show homes, sales offices, new-build properties, service cleans, sparkle cleans, handover cleans and general development cleaning.

You must:

• Hold a full driving licence (Ideally clean with no points)
• Be willing to travel between different developments
• Be able to use your own vehicle occasionally if required
• Be extremely reliable and punctual
• Be able to work quickly and efficiently without compromising quality
• Be comfortable working to deadlines and set time scales
• Be confident taking responsibility and making day-to-day decisions
• Have excellent attention to detail
• Be confident communicating with staff and site teams
• Be comfortable working within busy, fast-paced new-build developments
• Be able to work independently without constant supervision
• Be able to organise and motivate other members of the team
• Take pride in maintaining consistently high standards
• Be flexible, as locations and workloads can change

A company van or pool vehicle will be available on most working days, although there may occasionally be a requirement to use your own vehicle.
Working hours will generally be Monday to Friday, although optional weekend work may also be available from time to time.
Previous supervisory, cleaning or new-build experience would be beneficial, although we are also interested in somebody who has the right attitude, strong organisational skills and is willing to learn.
Full training will be provided, including the standards, methods and time expectations required across our developments.
All cleaning equipment and products are supplied by Tersus.
The supervisor role will initially be on a self-employed basis at £15 per hour.
For somebody who demonstrates reliability, commitment and the ability to manage staff, standards and workloads effectively, there is the potential for the position to develop into an employed role with greater responsibility as the company grows.
We are particularly looking for somebody who wants stable, ongoing work and a genuine future within the business, rather than simply a short-term cleaning position.
