As our Meetings and Events Assistant Manager, you are the operational powerhouse on the floor. From high stakes weddings and banquets to massive corporate conferences, you take the sales plan and make it a reality. You will manage the shifts, oversee the setup of the spaces, take charge of the AV equipment, and coach your team to deliver an electric atmosphere that maximises our bar revenue and leaves every guest blown away. At Village, we do hospitality a little differently. We are all about personality, genuine connections, and creating lively spaces for our guests to work, eat, relax, and play. That is why we back our teams to be themselves, take ownership, learn new skills, and grow their careers. Previous supervisory or management experience in events is essential, but your attitude, emotional intelligence, and ability to stay totally calm under pressure matter much more to us. If you are a natural leader who loves the physical graft of setting up a room, the thrill of running a flawless event, and the responsibility of developing a team, we will give you all the support you need. Because it really does take a Village. We live our culture through four simple commitments: We Can & We Do: We show up to make a genuine difference and do fantastic work every day, with purpose. We Will: Treat each other with respect and dignity. No ego, no drama. We try our best and look out for each other. We Care: We care about our impact on guests, the community, and each other. We do not just need someone to point at tables and read from a clipboard. We need a proactive, hands on commercial operator. We trust you to handle: The Floor Delivery: Making it happen. You will ensure the spaces are set up and serviced to exact brand standards, confidently demonstrating all AV tech, and guaranteeing the room looks immaculate before the first guest even steps inside. The Team Leadership: Driving the talent. You will deputise for the M&E Operations Manager, conducting 1:1s, running training sessions, coaching your team on the floor to deliver excellent service, and keeping the energy high during long banqueting shifts. The Commercial Hustle: Protecting the profit. You will use your passion for Food and Beverage to upsell at every opportunity, smashing our bar targets, tracking performance against the budget, and keeping a strict eye on payroll costs to ensure the department is highly profitable. The Guest Experience: Owning the room. You will liaise directly with the sales team and the event organisers on the day, offering rapid solutions to unexpected problems and ensuring a vibrant welcome and farewell for every single delegate. We do not micromanage. It takes a village, so we believe in Ownership & Integrity, giving you the autonomy to run your operations, solve practical problems, and own the events floor. We Empower & Elevate our people. If you want Room to Grow, we provide excellent training and development to help you step up to an Operations Manager role. Health & Wellbeing: Complimentary full leisure club membership for you and a friend (worth £1,500 annually), a monthly well-being programme, and an Employee Assistance Programme. Hotel Stays: Discounted stays from £35 based on two sharing, plus a Holiday Purchase scheme. Food & Drink: 50% discount on Food and Drink purchased on or off shift at any Village Hotel. Financial & Extras: Financial wellbeing support via Wagestream, High Street discounts, an Electric car salary sacrifice scheme, and your birthday off guaranteed. We are looking for heavy hitters who thrive in a fast paced events environment and are ready to take on management responsibility. If you know how to operate a mixing desk, can carry a tray of drinks with absolute confidence, and know how to lead a team through a busy Saturday night banquet while protecting the bottom line, we want to hear from you. Bring your personality, your drive, and your ambition. #J-18808-Ljbffr
