Due to our continuing success we are looking for a senior Sous Chef to provide cover in our neighbourhood's Italian Restaurants based around Hertfordshire. This is a travelling position therefore you will need a car and a valid UK licence. Previous experience in Italian kitchen is an advantage but not essential. For the right candidate we will offer a competitive salary, share of service charge and paid mileage to each destination. Responsibilities: Lead and oversee all aspects of food preparation, including cooking, plating, and presentation. Develop and create innovative menu items that reflect seasonal ingredients and culinary trends. Ensure consistent food quality and adherence to recipe standards. Train and mentor kitchen staff to maintain high standards of cooking techniques and food safety protocols. Manage inventory levels and ordering to minimize waste and ensure freshness of ingredients. Collaborate with management to develop cost-effective menu offerings while maintaining quality and profitability. Monitor kitchen operations to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Requirements: Proven experience as a Chef or Sous Chef. Strong culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines. Creative mindset with the ability to develop and execute new menu ideas. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations. Culinary degree or equivalent certification is preferred. This position is full time and permanent. You will be required to work Mon-Fri, 7am-3pm, all year round. You will be entitled to 20 days holiday plus bank holidays.
