Duties • Wash and maintain all crockery, cutlery, glassware, pots, pans and kitchen equipment, • Keep the kitchen, wash-up area, storerooms and waste areas clean, tidy and organised at all times, • Assist chefs with basic food preparation such as washing, peeling and chopping vegetables, • Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times, including COSHH and cleaning schedules, • Receive and store deliveries correctly, following stock rotation (FIFO) procedures, • Manage waste and recycling in line with company procedures, • Support the kitchen team during service to maintain flow and efficiency, • Assist with deep cleaning tasks and end-of-service close-down, • Report any equipment faults, breakages or stock shortages to the head chef Experience • Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential — full training provided, • Understanding of, or willingness to learn, food safety and hygiene standards, • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, • Good physical stamina, able to stand for long periods and handle manual tasks, • Excellent teamwork skills with a positive, can-do attitude, • Reliable, punctual and flexible with working hours, including evenings and weekends, • Interest in Asian cuisine is a plus Benefits • Holiday entitlement increases with your length of service, up to 28 days, • Employee discounts, • Company pension scheme, • Enhanced maternity and paternity pay If you are hardworking, dependable and eager to contribute to a vibrant kitchen team, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity as a Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant.
