Machine Operator - McCord Recruitment Services Ltd

McCord Recruitment Services is recruiting for a Machine Operator for our busy clients based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire to join their manufacturing department. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate high level of dexterity for this type of work, as well as ability to read instructions represented in drawings, schematics etc. following them with precision is extremely important. You will to be involved with a general production of heating elements using a various number of machines such as filling machine, rolling machine, skinning machine, press, CNC bending machines, powder digging and chamfering machines.

Job Duties:

• Preparation of materials to be used in the production of the heating elements
• Keep working areas organised, clean and tidy
• Screening and quality checking of the components
• Resistive wire coiling
• Spot welding
• Ultrasonic cleaning of the components
• General production of heating elements using a various number of machines such as filling machine, rolling machine, skinning machine, press, CNC bending machines, powder digging and chamfering machines
• Annealing of heating element rods
• Potting ends of heating elements
• Quality checks of completed products including Ohm and flash testing
• Maintain tooling and machines to keep in good working condition and report any potential issues with tooling to the Supervisor
• Adhere to all safety guidelines dictating the production and handling of materials in the factory and report safety concerns to the Supervisor
• Help other staff members on production during peak periods to ensure that all deadlines are met

Requirements:

• Operating of CNC bending machines, rolling machine, skinning machine, press, CNC bending machines, powder digging and chamfering machines
• Resistive wire coiling
• Spot welding
• Good understanding of quality control principles
• Good communication skills (verbal and written)
• Excellent hand-eye coordination
• Willingness to be part of a team

Hourly Rate:
£12.50 PAYE plus over time rate
45 Hours per Week
Temp to Perm position
