Preston Parish Council, a small village near Cirencester, is seeking highly organised and committed applicants for this key role. You will be responsible for the day-to-day organisation and management of the parish council’s services and finances.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, flexible and community-focussed with excellent management, administrative, inter-personal, bookkeeping and IT skills in order to work successfully with councillors, external organisations, stakeholders and the community. You must also be able to store Parish Council records securely at home.
This is mainly a home-based role which offers flexibility when the work is carried out provided that statutory and other deadlines are observed. You will be required to attend six annual evening Parish Council meetings and other meetings as needed and generally by prior arrangement.
Ideally you should possess the CiLCA qualification and have a sound understanding of local authority organisation and management. However, prior relevant experience in a similar role is an advantage. Training can be provided, and you will be expected to undertake further training to keep up to date with current legislation. We offer excellent nationally based terms and conditions of employment.
