Bakery Assistant & Sales Assistant — Uncle John’s Bakery Role Overview: At Uncle John’s Bakery, we pride ourselves on quality, heritage, and exceptional customer experience. We’re looking for a dedicated Bakery Assistant who can also take on Sales Assistant responsibilities — supporting both production and front-of-house operations. Key Responsibilities Bakery Assistant Duties Assist bakers with preparing dough, pastries, bread, and other products Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across workstations (PPE, sanitisation, food safety) Packaging products for retail, wholesale, and deliveries Stock rotation and ensuring shelves and display areas are full and presentable Supporting the production team during busy periods Helping with early-morning prep when required Sales Assistant Duties Serving customers with a friendly, professional attitude Operating the till and handling transactions accurately Upselling products (e.g., party packs, pastries, drinks) Keeping the shop floor tidy and welcoming Assisting with customer enquiries and product recommendations Helping set up displays and promotions Supporting online/phone orders and collection points Ensuring excellent customer service that reflects Uncle John’s Bakery’s legacy Skills & Qualities Reliable, punctual, and hardworking Good communication and customer service skills Ability to multitask across production and sales Team player who contributes to a positive work environment Basic food hygiene knowledge (training can be provided) Willingness to learn and contribute to the growth of the bakery Hours & Pay Part-time or full-time available Early mornings, weekdays, and weekend shifts may be required Competitive pay based on experience

Sales Management Knowing the Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for Retail related to the store (including previous years’ figures): Sales according to Budget, Average Receipt Price, Conversion Rate, UPT. Customer Service Guaranteeing the customer satisfaction standards set by Retail Management and assessed via the Mystery Shopper. Applying Camper’s Customer Services policies: Following the steps of the Sales Cycle. Applying specific SELL FOR SUCCESS training. Knowing how to transmit product benefits and care tips to the customer. Applying Camper’s guarantees in the event of returns and exchanges, ensuring complete customer satisfaction. Encouraging customer loyalty. Developing and maintaining commercial relations with customers with the aim of reinforcing the brand’s image and prestige. Operations and Procedures Store Operations: Opening and closing the Store.
