SITE SUPERVISOR – JOB SPECIFICATION
SHIFT: 8am until 5pm – Monday to Friday – Basic 40 Hour Week – Overtime available as and when required
PAY: Competitive – Dependent on experience
BREAKS: 1 hour per day, can be split into three segments. Unpaid
HOLIDAYS: 28 days per annum (8 of which are bank holidays)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Rainbow Waste Management are seeking a full-time Site Supervisor for its Waste Management operations in Swadlincote. This role oversees the efficient running of our waste processing centre ensuring work is carried out in a safe, efficient manner in-line with company policies.  Candidates should have leadership skills, knowledge of environmental regulations, and the ability to work outdoors. The position requires 50 hours per week, including Saturday mornings on a rota basis, and is not remote.
ABOUT RAINBOW WASTE MANAGEMENT:
Founded in 1998, Rainbow Waste Management are a waste collection and recycling company based in Swadlincote. Operating throughout South Derbyshire, East Staffordshire and North West Leicestershire serving thousand of customers for trade waste bins collections and commercial and non-commercial skip hire. Our waste processing centre at Swadlincote receives and processes all waste collected before being dispatched into various industries.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We're currently looking for a Site Supervisor to help the Site Manager with day-to-day site operations of our waste processing centre.
KEY REPONSIBILITIES:
·        Supervise management of incoming and outgoing waste to ensure safe practice and efficiency
·        Supervise recycling processes and associated operatives
·        Ensure proper waste segregation, material handling and processing
·        Oversee equipment and machinery usage including completion of relevant daily/weekly/quarterly safety checks
·        Oversee operation and basic maintenance of machinery and plant
·        Coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance of machinery/plant
·        Assign daily tasks to operatives and monitor completion of said tasks
·        Train staff on safety and operational procedures in conjunction with H&S Manager
·        Complete regular staff assessments and reviews
·        Enforce the usage of correct PPE and safety procedures at all times
·        Ensure compliance with all applicable Health & Safety and environmental regulations
·        Manage odour, dust, and pest control
·        Conduct routine site inspections at defined intervals reporting any issues or improvement suggestions inline with company policy
·        Liaise frequently with transport department to keep ahead of incoming and outgoing waste loads to ensure the efficient movement of waste
·        Work to, and exceed, relevant KPIs across waste processing, movements and safety
·        Prepare reports on site performance, incidents and compliance status at regular intervals
·        Assist with the preparation of report for management and/or regulatory bodies when needed
