    Guildford Rugby Club and Broadwater Pavilion are seeking an enthusiastic, organised and people‑focused Bar and Venue Manager to lead the day‑to‑day running of our busy clubhouse and events facilities. This is a hands‑on role at the heart of our community. You’ll help ensure members, guests and visitors enjoy a warm welcome and excellent service all year round. Our venue hosts a wide range of activities — from conferences, wakes and weddings to major community events such as the annual town fireworks (c.3,000 attendees) and large rugby festivals (c.1,000 participants). 🎯 About the Role You will oversee the bar, cellar, food service and venue operations, working closely with the General Manager and wider operations team. From bustling rugby weekends to private functions, training nights and community events, you’ll help create a vibrant, friendly atmosphere for everyone who walks through our doors. 🔧 Key Responsibilities • Managing the bar, cellar and stock levels, acting as the Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS)., • Leading and supporting a team of bar staff, waiting staff and volunteers to deliver consistently excellent service, including hiring staff and planning rotas., • Planning ahead for fixtures, events and bookings in collaboration with the operations team., • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and customer care throughout the venue., • Overseeing till management, cash handling and accurate financial recording., • Supporting food service operations, including managing the kitchen assistant and ensuring provision for training nights, match days and weekends. Food Hygiene Knowledge is desirable, but training can be given., • Setting up and closing down the venue, including AV/TV equipment and security responsibilities. 🌟 What We’re Looking For • Experience in bar or hospitality management, ideally with knowledge of EPOS till systems., • Strong organisational and communication skills., • Responsible for stock ordering alongside the Operations Team, • A confident, friendly leader who enjoys working with a diverse range of people across all age groups., • Financial awareness, including stock control and cash handling., • Availability to work weekends and evenings., • A welcoming, community‑minded approach that reflects the values of the Club and the wide range of events we host. 💙 Why Join Guildford Rugby Club?     Job Summary We are looking for enthusiastic and confident people to be part of a team that will not only run and organise activities for our international students, but also be responsible for their safeguarding and welfare. Previous experience is not a pre-requisite, you will receive training in all elements of the role including the safeguarding of juniors. The main part duty is organising and running activities for students, after they have finished their English lessons. These activities can range from a multi-sports day to talent shows and more. You will also take the groups on a number of pre-arranged excursions linked to our academic syllabus, which focuses on British life and culture. These excursions are either in the same city as your campus or may involve a coach trip somewhere else. The role also incorporates pastoral care of students while they are with us. The position is residential and we provide you with full-board accommodation throughout your time with us. We very much believe in retaining staff year after year and welcome anyone who returns to work for ABC the following year or years.
