Job Role: Children’s Home Registered Manager Location: London (NW1 – Existing Home Reopening) Salary: £52,000 basic, with potential earnings up to £58,600 including bonuses Contract: Permanent, full-time Hours: 40 hours per week (flexible rota including evenings, weekends and occasional nights) Role Overview We are recruiting an experienced and resilient Children’s Home Registered Manager to lead a 3-bed EBD children’s home in London, supporting young people aged 11–17. This is an excellent opportunity for either an established Registered Manager or a strong Deputy Manager ready for progression, with a proven leadership track record within children’s residential services. As Children’s Home Registered Manager, you will hold full responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the home, including care quality, safeguarding, compliance and staff leadership. You will lead from the front, embedding a strong, child-centred culture while ensuring the service consistently meets regulatory standards and delivers positive outcomes for young people. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Home Management • Act as the appointed Children’s Home Registered Manager for the service, • Hold full operational and strategic responsibility for the home, • Ensure staffing levels, rotas and on-call arrangements meet the needs of the children, • Maintain full compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted requirements, • Ensure high-quality, child-focused care is delivered consistently, • Promote a safe, structured and nurturing living environment, • Safeguard and promote the welfare of all children and young people, • Ensure care plans are implemented effectively and reviewed regularly, • Recruit, manage, supervise and develop the residential staff team, • Deliver effective supervision, appraisals and performance management, • Promote strong practice, accountability and consistency across the team, • Manage conduct, disciplinary and capability matters where required, • Maintain accurate records, reports and audits in line with regulatory requirements, • Ensure safeguarding procedures and risk management processes are embedded, • Manage budgets and resources efficiently, • Drive continuous improvement and quality across the service Essential Criteria • Experience working within Children’s Residential Homes, • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a senior role (Deputy Manager or above), • Proven leadership experience managing staff teams within residential childcare, • Strong working knowledge of:, • Children’s Homes Regulations, • Ofsted frameworks and expectations, • Safeguarding and statutory guidance, • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), • Hold or be working towards Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management, • Evidence of contributing to Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, • Ability to take full responsibility for rota planning and staffing cover, • Commutable distance to the home, • Willingness to travel for interviews and managers’ meetings, • Any disciplinaries or failed fit person decisions must be declared Desirable Criteria • Experience as a Registered Manager within an EBD setting, • Strong Deputy Manager looking to step into a Registered Manager role, • Consistent inspection history rated Good or Outstanding Salary & Benefits • £52,000 basic salary, rising to £58,600 with bonuses, • Ofsted bonuses:, • £3,000 for Outstanding, • £1,500 for Good, • Occupancy bonus: £300 per month at full occupancy, • Car allowance: £3,000 per annum or company car (£5,400 value), • Annual leave: 32 days including Bank Holidays, • Increasing by one additional day per year for the first 3 years, • Workplace pension scheme, • Mobile phone provided, • Local parking permit, • On-call included within salary and shared appropriately Additional Information • Ofsted rating currently N/A (home reopening), • Six-month probationary period, • Three months’ notice period (outside of disciplinary matters), • Role subject to statutory checks and Ofsted approval
