Head Pastry Chef - Bakery Production - North London 55k Location: North London Salary: £50-55,000 all inclusive Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent Hours- 45 hours per week working 5 days out of 7 and involves weekends Predominantly early straight shifts starting from 4am so be mindful of transport at this time of day About An ambitious, fast-growing artisan bakery group with the production kitchen based in N1 London, multiple sites and exciting expansion plans over the next 1224 months. Built on a foundation of craftsmanship, quality ingredients, and creativity, they produce premium viennoiserie, and seasonal patisserie for their retail sites As they enter the next phase of growth, Im looking for a talented and driven Head Pastry Chef to lead the pastry operation and play a key role in shaping the future of the business. The Role This is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of pastry production across the central kitchen You will combine hands-on excellence with strategic thinking ensuring consistency, innovation, team development, and commercial success. Key Responsibilities Lead and inspire the pastry team across production Develop innovative and signature products Maintain exceptional standards of quality, consistency, and presentation Manage production planning, stock control, and supplier relationships Oversee food safety, HACCP compliance, and hygiene standards Drive GP targets, costing, and waste control Mentor junior pastry chefs Collaborate with senior management on growth strategy and new site openings What Were Looking For Proven experience as a Head Pastry Chef in a high-volume premium hospitality environment. Someone looking to step out of restaurants and high end hotels and move into a production kitchen with no night shifts Strong expertise in laminated doughs(Ideal but can be learnt), viennoiserie, cakes, and modern patisserie Experience managing teams of 5+ chefs Commercial awareness with strong costing and margin control skills Passion for innovation and staying ahead of pastry trends Calm leadership style with excellent organisational skills Food Hygiene Level 3 (ideally) Why Join?
