Akoko is a Michelin-starred restaurant in Fitzrovia, London, showcasing the flavours and culinary traditions of West Africa through a refined tasting menu experience. We’re looking for an experienced, warm and highly organised Host to join our front-of-house team. This is an important role at the heart of the restaurant. You’ll be the first point of contact for our guests, looking after their experience from their initial enquiry and reservation through to welcoming them into the restaurant. You will: • Warmly welcome guests and manage arrivals and seating, • Manage reservations using SevenRooms, ensuring guest details and preferences are accurately recorded, • Respond to guest emails, phone calls and booking enquiries, • Handle special requests, dietary information and changes to reservations, • Manage enquiries for group bookings and events, • Build relationships with regular guests and help create a personalised experience, • Confidently look after VIPs, high-profile guests and special occasions with professionalism and discretion, • Work closely with the restaurant management and service team to ensure each service runs smoothly, • Handle guest queries or complaints calmly and professionally What we’re looking for • Previous experience as a Host, Receptionist or Reservations Host within a luxury restaurant, five-star hotel or similar high-end hospitality environment, • Excellent written and spoken English, • Warm, confident and naturally welcoming, • Highly organised with strong attention to detail, • Comfortable managing emails, telephone calls and multiple bookings at once, • Experience using SevenRooms or a similar restaurant reservations system is preferred, • Confident dealing with VIPs and discerning guests, • Professional, discreet and calm under pressure, • Genuine enthusiasm for great hospitality, • Available to work late nights and weekends.
