Fabric Sales Representative | Edmonton, North London | Full Time | £40,000–£45,000 OTEWith 140+ years of heritage, our client is a leading UK B2B fabric wholesaler, trusted by fabric retailers and manufacturers in the fashion, hobby and craft industries. The business is currently undergoing a bold rebrand and digital transformation to reshape the future of textile wholesale and elevate the customer experience.The RoleOur client is looking for an ambitious, commercially driven Fabric Sales Representative to join their growing sales team.This is a hands-on B2B sales role combining account management, face-to-face selling and new business development. The successful candidate will manage and grow an existing portfolio of customers while actively developing new opportunities across the UK.The role will involve regular UK sales trips, with a minimum of 10 working days per month spent in the field attending pre-booked customer appointments, alongside occasional cold visits.Approximately 50% of the role will focus on existing account management and upselling, with the remaining 50% focused on new business development, outbound sales and cold calling.The role will be based on-site in Edmonton, North London, with regular UK travel and sales trips. The position will include one Sunday per month.The role reports directly to the CEO, providing the successful candidate with direct access to senior decision-makers and the opportunity to make a real impact on the continued growth of the business.HoursMonday–Thursday 9:00am–5:30pmFriday hours of 9:00am–4:30pm during summer and 9:00am–3:30pm during winterOne Sunday per month, 8:30am–3:00pm, based in the office to support walk-in customersKey ResponsibilitiesManage and grow an established portfolio of B2B customer accountsBuild strong, long-term relationships and become a trusted commercial point of contact for customersConduct regular customer visits and sales trips across the UK, presenting ranges and identifying opportunities to grow accountsProactively generate new business, identifying and converting prospective customersUnderstand each customer's business, buying patterns and potential, and develop clear plans to increase salesPresent new ranges, seasonal collections and commercial opportunities to customersFollow up quotations, samples, enquiries and opportunities with pace and persistenceIdentify opportunities to cross-sell and introduce customers to additional product categoriesNegotiate commercially while protecting margin and building sustainable customer relationshipsMaintain accurate CRM records, opportunities and follow-up activityWork closely with the Product team, sharing customer feedback, market intelligence and emerging product opportunitiesTake ownership of individual sales targets and contribute to the wider growth of the businessAttend a minimum of 10 working days per month in the field attending pre-booked appointmentsCarry out occasional cold visits and outbound sales activityBuild and develop a strong sales pipeline during the initial period, establishing relationships and opportunities before formal performance targets are introducedDevelop a strong understanding of the company's products and customer base, with formal targets and KPIs becoming more applicable as the role becomes establishedRequirementsEssential2–3+ years of demonstrable success in B2B sales, ideally involving physical products, wholesale, textiles, fashion or a related industry (i.e. upholstery, furniture, leather etc)Experience selling a physical product through a traditional, relationship-led sales approachConfident and persuasive face-to-face salesperson who enjoys getting in front of customersStrong relationship-building and account-management skillsCommercially sharp, target-driven and motivated by growthProactive and comfortable generating new business rather than relying solely on inbound opportunitiesStrong outbound sales, cold calling and business development skillsStrong communication, negotiation and presentation skillsHungry, driven and motivated by winning new businessCoachable and comfortable taking feedbackPersonable and able to build genuine relationships with customersFast learner with good common sense, professionalism and the ability to work independentlyComfortable using CRM and digital sales toolsFull UK driving licence and flexibility to travel regularly for customer visits and sales tripsDesirablePrevious experience within the fabric, textile, fashion, hobby or craft industriesExperience within an adjacent physical-product sector such as upholstery, furniture, leather or similarExperience in wholesale or B2B physical product salesWhat's In It For YouCompetitive salary with performance-based commission following probation, commission structure designed to reward performance following the six-month probationary periodGenuine opportunity to build your own pipeline and customer portfolio, with time to establish relationships before formal targets become a key focusYear 1 OTE realistically around £40,000–£45,000Year 2 OTE expected to reach around £50,000–£60,000+Regular UK sales trips and face-to-face customer engagementStrong and continually evolving product offering, including new textile ranges and competitively priced core fabricsDirect access to senior decision-makers including the CEO, Head of Sales and Buying teamOpportunity to join the business at an exciting stage of growth following its rebrand and digital transformationGenuine long-term scope to grow portfolio, responsibility and position within the sales teamOpportunity to help shape the next stage of the businessAnnual leave package of 20 days + Bank Holidays, with additional company closure days which vary annually on topBirthday day off in addition to annual leave, additional annual leave entitlement after 2 and 5 years' serviceMonthly staff pizza afternoon and an annual staff outing/activityWhat's next?
