Job Description Job Title: Structural Steel Ironworker — MTA Project Position Summary: The Employer is seeking experienced and safety‐conscious Structural Steel Ironworkers to perform erection, installation, and repair of structural steel components for Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) projects. The successful candidates will work from engineering drawings and specifications to ensure accurate, timely, and code‐compliant completion of assigned work. Key Responsibilities: • Erect, position, align, secure, and connect structural steel members in accordance with project drawings and specifications., • Install anchor bolts, base plates, stiffeners, splices, and connection hardware; perform bolting, welding, and grinding as required., • Rig and signal for cranes and hoisting equipment; assist riggers and follow qualified rigger directions., • Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, layout marks, and perform field layout using levels, plumb bobs, lasers, and measuring instruments., • Perform on‐site adjustments, shimming, and fit‐up to achieve specified tolerances., • Maintain tools, equipment, and assigned materials; ensure proper care and secure storage., • Adhere to all safety regulations, including fall protection, confined space entry, lockout/tagout, and hot‐work procedures; promptly report hazards or incidents. Minimum Qualifications: • Minimum [5] years of proven experience in structural steel erection on heavy civil or transportation projects., • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret structural drawings and perform field layout., • Competence in bolting, welding (as applicable), rigging, and use of common ironworker tools., • Valid OSHA 10‐hour or 30‐hour Construction Safety Card (specify required).
