Building and Grounds Custodians may be assigned to the central Maintenance Division or to a designated housing site. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS The Building and Grounds Custodian must have a high school diploma or a GED equivalency. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A minimum of one (1) year of experience is needed to be considered for the position. It is preferred that the Building and Grounds Custodian have two or more years of experience with a good working knowledge of the work tasks which need to be performed. OTHER REQUIREMENTS The Building and Grounds Custodian must have a valid State of Michigan Driver's License and be capable of obtaining both State of Michigan and City of Detroit Police Department criminal investigation clearance. The incumbent must be able to pass a drug screening test administered by the Detroit Housing Commission or the appointed designee.
