The Day Care Assistant/Helper supports the daily operations of the childcare center by assisting with the supervision and care of children, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and helping teachers and staff with daily routines. This position does not serve as the lead teacher but plays an essential role in ensuring the smooth operation of the program. • Help children during meals, snacks, toileting, handwashing, and other daily routines., • Set up and clean up classroom activities and learning materials., • Sanitize toys, tables, cots, and classroom equipment throughout the day., • Maintain clean, organized classrooms, bathrooms, and common areas., • Assist with nap time, playground supervision, and classroom transitions., • Help prepare and distribute snacks and meals., • Encourage positive behavior by modeling kindness, patience, and respect., • Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of children at all times., • Follow all center policies, health and safety procedures, and licensing regulations., • Assist in different classrooms as needed., • Communicate respectfully with children, families, and coworkers., • Attend required staff meetings and training sessions., • Perform other duties assigned by the Director.

This position is for a Per-Diem Daycare substitute assistant* This a Home Based Licensed Group Family Daycare located in Woodside, Queens. We are seeking to hire a Daycare Substitute Assistant. The ideal candidate must be willing to provide child care to infants and toddlers as needed per-diem (based on the attendance/ratio of the children present) in the event additional coverage is needed within the program; commit to overseeing the daily functions of the program, provide a loving and professional environment, while providing leadership experience to both our children and parents. Responsibilities: • Monitor and play with children to ensure safety., • Ensure safety and oversight of all children at all times, • Keep the facility clean and well maintained., • Adhere to local and state child care laws and regulations., • Adhere to company policies and procedures., • Maintain the security of all records associated with the daycare, • Personal care to include diaper changing, toileting, meal preparation, etc., • Maintain cleanliness of toys, mats, tables and chairs, bathroom, sweeping, washing dishes, etc ., • Perform other duties as assigned by Program Provider, • Maintain and upkeep trainings as required by Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS), • Be able to provide care and oversight from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm or 8:30 am -4:30 pm Monday-Friday as needed on a per-diem basis (on-call).
