Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team.
In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities, assisting them in achieving their personal goals and enhancing their quality of life. Your work will involve fostering independence and promoting dignity for those in your care, ensuring they receive the necessary support in a safe and nurturing environment.
We are looking to find a DSP that will work with an individual that requires compassion and patience. Initial schedule would be Monday, Tuesday, and Saturday. Hours would be from 11 am to 4pm or 10am to 3pm. (TBD). Approximately 15-20 hours.
Provide support and care to an individual (male) in his home, that enjoys going to the mall, walking in the park, and going to the beach. Provide companionship at home and within the community.
Case details: - 10 - 15 hours a week Monday, Wednesday, Friday 5 pm-8 pm alternative weekends for 5 hours. - Improve independance in home and out in the community - 1 dog in home Duties: - Assist with daily living activities (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, organizing, and meal preparation. - Provide support for individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their needs are met in a respectful manner. - Engage client in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and personal development accordingly. - Support the individual in the home and within the community - Administer CPR and first aid when necessary Requirements: - 1 year experience working in a private home or in a group setting as a DSP or home health aid - First Aid and CPR Certified - 1 year experience working with people with disabilities, elderly, and special needs - 1 year experience working with individuals with emotional and behavioral disorders - Understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain client confidentiality. - Ability to assist individuals with daily living activities (ADLs) effectively. - Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to caregiving. - Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed. - Reliable transportation
