We are growing rapidly and looking for high performers at every level to grow with us.POSITION SUMMARY:The Events Manager will oversee facility usage/scheduling and will manage the facility's non-sports programs, including special events, trade shows, meetings, banquets, and any other programs held. The Events Manager will work closely with other departments in hiring, training, management, and staff scheduling. The Manager will work closely with the individual leaders of each program as well as other internal departments (Operations, Marketing, etc.) in order to successfully accomplish these responsibilities.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Plan, develop, execute, and manage the facility's events calendarResponsible for the development and implementation of new programming Responsible for overseeing program and activity providers, contracts, scheduling, and bringing in a wide variety of programming opportunities to the facilityPrimary contact for all events and executor of bookings/contracts for events in the Great Hall Oversee all aspects of daily operations, event programs and special activitiesLend support to other operations leaders and staffDevelop programming and events to target various markets ranging from corporate, group, adult/youth/family, and special interest groupsDevelop and manage program budgetsCreate and develop sales initiatives and goals for special events, birthday parties, community events, etc.Generate sales through networking, building relationships, and creating strategic alliancesTrack and report weekly sales totalsWork with third-party partners to maximize revenue and attract eventsActively participates in other operational functions as necessary, including but not limited to event setup and execution, attending all scheduled events and meetings, assisting other departments during outside or special events, etc.Creating and promoting programs and activities Event development and sales in-house and co-partnershipsServe as Manager On Duty on weekends or during eventsAdditional tasks assigned by managementMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:A bachelor's degree in recreation, sports management or related field with 3-5 years of appropriate experience preferredMust have proven track record of developing, marketing, and selling recreation and training programsMust have excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and negotiating skillsMust be a team playerMust have excellent verbal and written communication skillsMust have excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.Must be able to work flexible schedules including weekends, nights, and holidaysMust possess current CPR/FIRST AID certifications or must be willing to obtain them within a specified period of timeWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist highMay be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop, or bendWill be required to operate a computerFacility has intermittent noise Job Posted by ApplicantPro
