Food & Beverage Assist with managing food orders for client and internal meetings in conference rooms and office café spaces. Set-up of conference rooms, pantries and office café spaces in accordance with established protocols. Creative eye and attention to detail for food and beverage set-ups. Advise Catering Manager and Catering Coordinator when supplies need to be ordered for conference rooms, pantries and office café spaces. Re-stock office café spaces and pantries including coffee, snacks, paper goods, utensils and cleaning supplies. Clear conference rooms following each use and ensure they are properly cleaned and sanitized. Wipe down conference room tables, credenzas and/or other food set-up areas and check chairs for any debris. Advise reception team regarding any documents that are left behind for proper disposition. Office Events & Celebrations Support execution of various in-house events including set-ups, food presentation, serving and breakdown. This includes meetings and events starting before or after hours as needed. Communication: Must have interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate in-person, by email and telephone. Ability to follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of attorneys and staff and provide information with courtesy and tact. Facilities: Clean and maintain conference room, catering kitchen area, pantries and office café spaces. Report furniture or facility problems to the office facilities team in a timely manner. Qualifications: Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints. Ability to solve problems by following clearly defined procedures. Ability to determine when guidance or assistance is required from the coordinator or manager relative to daily operations or unusual circumstances. Ability to move and lift up to 40 pounds. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the unit. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment. Work may require irregular hours and occasionally requires overtime to perform the essential duties of the position. Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. 2+ years of experience in the food services or hospitality industry - i.e. catering, restaurants, hotels, etc.

The counter attendant’s responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness, attending to customers’ requests, serving food or packaging it for takeaway, and accepting payments. To be successful as a counter attendant, you will carefully listen to customers to ensure accuracy when taking requests and demonstrate exceptional problem-solving abilities. A top-notch counter attendant should always strive to deliver outstanding customer service. Counter Attendant Responsibilities: Greeting customers as they arrive and making them feel welcome. Directing customers to their seats and the restroom, answering questions about the menu, and making note of special requests, if required. Serving food to diners from a counter or, if seated, taking their orders. Communicating food and drink orders to the kitchen staff. Assembling and packaging takeaway orders. Maintaining cleanliness standards by keeping the counters, tableware, and utensils clean. Replenishing food supplies when required. Presenting customers with the bill and processing payments. Complying with company policies. Counter Attendant Requirements: A high school diploma or GED. Previous customer service experience is preferred. Working knowledge of promoting, selling, and packaging food products. The ability to process bills and cash registers. Experience working with POS systems. The ability to adhere to and uphold sanitization standards. Excellent listening and communication skills. A positive attitude and a polite and friendly demeanor.

Harvest Home Farmer’s Market provides low-income communities with access to farm fresh local produce and the education to achieve healthier lifestyles. We operate 14 seasonal markets (June – November) in low-income communities in the Bronx, Upper Manhattan, and Brooklyn. JOB SUMMARY: Community chefs will work in the preparation of plant-based recipes featuring local produce and delivery of nutrition education at 14 Harvest Home farmers’ markets. This opportunity offers a great hands-on learning experience for those interested in working with health and wellness improvement in NYC, particularly in underserved communities, in addition to valuable networking opportunities. RESPONSIBITIES AND DUTIES (include but are not limited to): • Conduct cooking demonstrations with nutrition education information at assigned farmers’ market(s) • Maintain food safety throughout the food demonstrations. • Distribute nutrition education materials, communicate clearly to participants. • Complete all tracking and data collection and submit in a timely, organized manner. • Maintain close communication with Harvest Home staff to maintain appropriate levels of supplies and necessary ingredients and materials for weekly recipes. • Participate in team meetings and trainings, including mandatory pre-season training in June 2024 QUALIFICATIONS: • Current Food Handler certification or successfully completed a NYC Food Protection Course. (If needed: complete NYC Food Protection Course online for $24.00 dollar fee) • Basic knife skills and ability to execute basic cooking techniques • Experience or training in nutrition or community cooking demonstrations/workshops. • Ideal candidates will have knowledge about regionally-grown fruit and vegetables – including growing seasons/patterns and culinary applications. • Dynamic personality and excellent presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills • Ability to work in multi-cultural settings with racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic diversity • Willing and able to stand for long periods of time working outdoors • Does not shy away from the heat/cold or wind/rain (we cannot emphasize this enough!) • College coursework in nutrition and/or food studies preferred • Willingness to travel throughout New York City • Ability to speak other languages is a plus! (Spanish, French, Creole, Mandarin, Cantonese, Bengali, and Russian) • Commitment to a minimum of 2 days per week, 7 hours/day, possibly including Saturday • Reliable, punctual, and dependable QUALIFICATIONS (continued): • Possesses an interest in making a difference with respect to nutrition, while having a passion for food accessibility and healthy food choices • Availability for the required 3-day (20/hrs.) training on June 4th, 5th, and 6th Hourly Wage: $22/hour
