Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable electrician/electrical engineer who will be responsible for preparing, conducting, and evaluating technical training programs. In this role, you will create materials to be used in programs and design exercises to enhance instruction. You will conduct hands-on classes in the classroom and field regarding energy-efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical and/or electrical equipment. Your expertise will empower students and trainees to develop practical skills in electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, ensuring they are well-prepared for tasks that increase building energy efficiency. Duties • Design and deliver technical training programs for employees, customers, or partners on one or more of the following topics: -Lighting system upgrades -Energy-efficient pump maintenance and repair • Assess training needs through surveys, interviews, and job analysis., • Conduct classroom instruction utilizing various teaching methods tailored for adult learners and technical students., • Develop customized materials, including manuals, slide decks, e-learning modules, and hands-on labs., • Provide post-training support and follow-up to reinforce learning and answer ongoing questions., • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and revise content as needed., • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy., • Stay current with evolving technology trends and update training offerings accordingly., • Determine overall effectiveness of programs and training by listening to feedback and making improvements as necessary., • Mentor internal instructors on subject matter, content, and course delivery techniques., • Incorporate industry standards such as OSHA regulations into training modules to promote safety awareness and compliance., • Facilitate hands-on training sessions in electrical wiring, maintenance, and troubleshooting, within lab and real-world environments., • Evaluate trainee performance through assessments and provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement. Requirements • NYS licensed electrician Qualifications/Skills: • Experience installing and repairing wiring and conductive elements and electrical components in buildings., • Experience testing and inspecting electrical work like wiring and lighting to ensure safe installation and compliance with regulatory codes., • Experience identifying and mitigating safety hazards, code violations and other electrical issues., • Ability to translate technical concepts into user-friendly instructions., • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and presentation abilities., • Patience and adaptability when working with varying skill levels., • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards relevant to electrical work and industrial environments., • Analytical thinking and problem-solving orientation., • Experienced in leading hands-on technical trainings in classroom and field settings., • Experienced in use of MS Word, MS Excel and Google Docs/Sheets and PowerPoint. Experience using Canva a plus., • Organizational skills for managing multiple concurrent training programs. Prefer the following: • BPI, CEM, LEED or other applicable building performance certification, • Experience working in a public housing environment, • Bilingual (Spanish)

Seeking experienced Locksmith familiar with installing electric strikes, electrified locks, magnetic locks and exit devices. Must have some knowledge of basic electricity. Willing to train someone out of an accredited trade school.

Position Summary: The Diesel Technician is responsible for the preventative and corrective maintenance of the diesel main engines and generators onboard fleet vessels. Three shifts are available at the Brooklyn Navy Yard: • Night shift, 5:00 PM - 1:30 AM, • Morning shift, 4:00 AM - 12:30 PM, • Swing shift, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM Duties & Responsibilities: • Accept tasks from the Engineering Supervisor and plans/implements execution., • Successfully and safely perform all diesel engine maintenance onboard vessels up to, and including, engine overhauls, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance work., • Ensure all aspects of safety during task execution., • Issue company power tools to technicians to accomplish designated tasks. Ensure tools are returned before the end of the shift., • Ensure company warranty procedures are followed., • Ensure all shift paperwork is correctly completed and submitted., • Important vessel information is communicated to other supervisors and the chain of command., • Seek the highest levels of quality and professionalism., • Use of approved Hazmat required for Paints, Solvents & Cleaning Agents., • Perform cleaning and custodial tasks of the vessels and property, including maintenance and construction tasks as assigned and minor engineering repairs and rounds as directed., • Work to achieve the highest levels of performance and productivity., • Assist the Port Engineer in ensuring compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations., • Assist the Port Engineer in ensuring the vessel is always in an inspection-ready condition., • Assist with filling water, bunkering fuel, connecting and disconnecting shore power as directed., • Additional job duties as assigned. Requirements & Qualifications: • HS Diploma, • Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC Card), and/or ability to obtain and maintain., • Valid First Aid/CPR Certification, and/or ability to obtain and maintain., • Valid Driver’s License., • Copy of DD214, if Veteran status., • Excellent customer service skills., • Ability to effectively interact with the passengers, guests, and fellow employees., • Ability to work in fast-paced, quickly changing environment., • Mechanical and electrical experience are required., • Marine mechanical experience is highly desired., • Proven track record running a maintenance shift is highly desired., • Proven track record of working successfully in a team environment., • Submit to and pass alcohol and drug tests as mandated by the USCG including but not limited to pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident/incident testing.
