This includes plan take offs, load calculations, and organize site visits to ensure the proper scope of work is identified. Position Responsibilities may include: • Collaborate with Motili Contractor Relations to identify HVAC installers who are capable and willing to bid the labor for the project, • Accurately estimate plan/spec and design/build HVAC systems using computer estimating systems and other related software, • Maintain estimating logs and unit costs for all projects, • Perform site surveys and attend pre-bid walkthroughs, • Interact with the sales and contractor relations and project management teams to ensure all projects are performed under budget and according to plans and specifications, • Preform Load Calculations, • Create Manual D duct design, • Perform equipment specification, • Participate in additional projects to support ongoing business needs Nature and Scope: • Applies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience, • Manages projects and processes while working independently and with limited supervision, • Coaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionals, • Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex; takes a new perspective on existing solutions Knowledge and Skills: • Knowledge of different types of HVAC systems and their components, • Single Family new construction and multi-family experience required, • Background in value engineering, • Thorough understanding of related trades for the purposes of coordinating various project estimates, • Boiler and chiller experience, • Mid-rise commercial experience a plus, • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and other construction documents, • Experience with estimating software and systems preferred, • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, • Ability to work under limited or sporadic direction and meet deadlines and ability, • Must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational and project management skills, • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, • Ability to apply good judgement and strong work ethics and integrity on the job Experience: • 5 + years of estimating experience in the HVAC industry with a proven track record is required Education: • High School Diploma or GED equivalent, • HVAC vocational training/certificate People Management: No Physical Requirements / Working Environment: • Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with reasonable accommodations.
