ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS Closely work with together with the BIM Manager and system’s design engineers to provide 3D design aid throughout the project’s life cycle. Reports to Enterprise Systems engineering manager. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY The Engineer is responsible for working closely with the BIM Manager and Systems Engineer to create a 3D model of the integrated security systems design submittal for approval by the customer or representative and in accordance with project specifications, drawings, codes, and regulations, manage and create the design submittal (drawings, bill of material, calculations, as-builts, etc.) and maintain the submittal during changes to the contract. Work within Security Technology systems group on the design and integration of security systems, access control, intrusion detection systems, communication, CCTV, Intercom systems, computer, and networking. Develop detailed design schematic and review 2D and 3D drawings for electronic and electrical products. This position will require working closely with project managers, design engineers, engineering specialists, manufactures, customers, engineering firms and other external experts. This position will require working in the Elmsford-NY office or the Fair Lawn-NJ office. Travel if might needed is less than 10% of the time. There is no relocation package available for this position. Job Requirements: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Basic working knowledge of Electronic Security Systems and features., • Creating Detailed 3D Models utilizing Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks to develop detailed 3D models of architectural designs., • Work closely with Design Engineers, architects, and other team members., • Updating and Modifying Models. As plans and specifications change, update and modify existing models accordingly., • Generating 2D Drawings and Details. Extract 2D drawings and construction details from 3D models., • Clash Detection and Coordination. Run clash detection analyses to identify conflicts or discrepancies between different building elements., • Attend Regular Project clash detection meetings and be prepared with clash reports to facilitate coordination meetings among project stakeholders., • Adherence to BIM Standards. Ensure that all models comply with project-specific BIM standards and protocols., • Maintaining BIM Libraries. Create and update BIM families within the project’s library., • Contributing to BIM Standards Development and actively participate in enhancing BIM standards and best practices within the organization., • Ability to handle multiple projects, schedule work and communicate effectively to peers. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES • Be prompt, reliable, and on time in all aspects of your engagement while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy., • Perform any additional duties as required or assigned. SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES • Security engineering experience is preferred but not a must., • BS in EE Engineering or equivalent is required., • Computer skills to include Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks and MS Office., • Knowledge of ISO 19650 standards, • AC and DC circuitry, voltage drop calculations and wire sizing., • Basic knowledge of network and system security principles, not only in theory., • Executing enterprise engineering techniques., • Proven experience managing workload and pressure situations. Experience with medical equipment, in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) systems, risk management, and regulatory compliance is highly desirable. \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Lead hardware design, development, testing, and sustaining engineering activities for regulated medical devices.\n, • Design and review analog, digital, and mixed-signal electronic circuits.\n, • Perform schematic design, component selection, PCB design reviews, and hardware architecture evaluations.\n, • Develop hardware interfaces for microcontrollers (MCUs), FPGAs, sensors, and other electronic components.\n, • Design and support battery-powered systems, power electronics, power management circuits, and DC-DC converters.\n, • Implement and evaluate high-speed communication interfaces, including USB, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, CAN, and RS232.\n, • Apply signal integrity (SI), power integrity (PI), design for manufacturing (DFM), and design for testability (DFT) principles.\n, • Execute hardware verification and validation (V&V), troubleshooting, failure analysis, and performance testing.\n, • Conduct hardware risk assessments and support risk management activities in accordance with ISO 14971.\n, • Support compliance testing and product development activities related to IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2, and ISO 13485.\n, • Maintain hardware design documentation, engineering change records, and product lifecycle information using Windchill or Agile PLM.\n, • Support manufacturing transfers, supplier changes, component obsolescence management, and cost optimization initiatives.\n, • Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Firmware, Mechanical Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, and Manufacturing teams.\n, • Provide technical guidance during design reviews, product troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.\n\n Required Qualifications and Skills \n\n • 10–15 years of experience in hardware development, preferably focused on medical devices or regulated medical equipment.\n, • Strong hands-on experience in analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design.\n, • Experience with PCB design, schematic capture, PCB layout reviews, and component selection.\n, • Knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, and high-speed PCB design constraints.\n, • Experience with microcontrollers, FPGAs, sensor interfaces, and embedded hardware integration.\n, • Strong understanding of power electronics, battery-powered devices, and DC-DC converters.\n, • Experience with communication interfaces such as USB, I2C, SPI, RS232, Ethernet, CAN, GSM, and Bluetooth.\n, • Experience with hardware verification, validation, testing, and troubleshooting.\n, • Hands-on experience with hardware risk management and failure analysis.\n, • Familiarity with medical device standards, including IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2, ISO 14971, and ISO 13485.\n, • Proficiency with PCB design tools such as Altium Designer and/or OrCAD.\n, • Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools such as Windchill or Agile PLM.\n, • Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.\n\n Preferred Qualifications \n\n • Prior experience designing medical equipment, diagnostic instruments, or in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) systems.\n, • Experience with motion control systems, motor drivers, and precision sensors.\n, • Experience supporting regulatory submissions, EMC testing, manufacturing transfers, and product sustaining activities.\n, • Experience with design for manufacturing, design for testability, and hardware cost optimization.\n\n Ideal Candidate Profile \n The ideal candidate is a hands-on senior hardware engineer with a strong background in medical device electronics, PCB design, embedded hardware interfaces, and regulated product development.
