As a Zoo Keeper, you will play a vital role in the care, well-being, and enrichment of a diverse range of animal species, including reptiles, birds, kangaroos, primates, and livestock. You will be responsible for ensuring the animals' nutrition, health, and overall welfare, while also maintaining detailed records and providing proactive documentation. This position requires working outdoors in all climates and being available to work weekends and holidays as needed. Job Responsibilities: • Animal Care: Feed and care for animals like reptiles, birds, kangaroos, primates, and livestock. Monitor their behavior and health, and give medications as needed. Keep animal enclosures clean., • Nutrition & Enrichment: Prepare and give animals the right food. Observe their eating habits and adjust if necessary. Create fun activities to keep them mentally and physically active., • Health Monitoring & Records: Perform regular health checks. Keep detailed records of their health, behavior, and enrichment. Report any issues to the management team. Help with veterinary tasks as needed., • Exhibit Maintenance: Ensure enclosures are clean and safe.
