Job Description SUMMARY This position is for a field technician who is experienced in boiler installation, maintenance and troubleshooting. The candidate is experienced at utilizing mechanical capabilities to perform maintenance on Commercial / Industrial boilers. The position is in the NYC & Long Island area. The Candidate will be working alongside an experience & factory trained service technician who will instruct on all areas of repair and maintenance. In the first months of this position, the Candidate will be trained on Cleaver-Brooks boilers and participate in a program where they will tag along with the cleaning crew and the A Level Technicians. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Perform routine maintenance on boiler equipment and systems, • Maintain low pressure boilers, high boilers, power boilers, steam boilers, or hot water heating systems., • Replace defective valves, filters, or steam gauges., • Monitor boiler systems to ensure it is operating safely and properly; facilitate periodic cleaning., • Address any problems with boiler systems and notify maintenance when needed., • Maintain neat and professional demeanor to guarantee an excellent customer service experience, • Contact supervisor concerning potentially dangerous equipment or safety violations., • OSHA 30, F-60 & G-60 is required, • 3+ years experience in Boiler Maintenance, Combustion, basic boiler circuits (not PLC controlled), • Technical/vocational school training and experience working with HVAC or industrial boilers., • Extensive knowledge of industrial boiler operations and maintenance., • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, • Excellent mechanical skills, • Ability to follow OSHA rules as to safety procedures and processes., • Stand-by (weekend / holiday) required on rotation. Company will provide “specialty tools” as permitted, must have own hand, • Physically able to inspect and repair boilers, • Able to work in confined spaces, • Must be able to lift 75 pounds at a time, • Ability to perform some welding is a plus, • Must pass a drug screening and background check prior to employment (at the company’s expense) Company DescriptionMiller Proctor Nickolas, Inc. is the only authorized Cleaver Brooks boiler parts, service and sales agent in the NYC Metro, Westchester, surrounding counties and Long Island area.
