Over its 36-year history, the organization has engaged thousands of young people in its innovative youth development programs that promote global awareness and action, building their agency to effect change in their community and beyond. We are seeking an experienced Sports Specialist to join our High School Team. The specialist will design and lead engaging activities that promote personal development, academic enrichment, and social-emotional learning for students. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with youth and a talent for creating inclusive and stimulating environments. This is a seasonal position, starting on February 28, 2026, and expected to end on June 13, 2026. Key Responsibilities: Program Development and Implementation: • Plan, organize, and coach a team of students for specific sports: volleyball, soccer, or tennis, • Develop lesson plans that are age-appropriate, culturally responsive, and aligned with DYCD and Global Kids guidelines and standards., • Facilitate activities that encourage teamwork, leadership, and positive social interactions. Student Engagement and Support: • Foster a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for all participants., • Encourage student participation and engagement in all activities. Collaboration and Communication: • Work closely with other staff members, including the Program Director and the Director of Community Schools,, • to ensure a cohesive and integrated program., • Maintain open and effective communication with parents, guardians, and school staff., • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities. Monitoring and Evaluation: • Track and report on student progress and program outcomes., • Conduct regular assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of activities and make necessary adjustments., • Ensure compliance with all DYCD regulations and guidelines. Qualifications: • Education and Experience:, • Minimum of four years of experience working with young people in an educational or recreational setting., • Minimum of two years of experience in coaching organized competitive sports, particularly in basketball, soccer, or tennis, • Experience in planning and leading activities for diverse groups of students., • Skills and Abilities:, • Strong organizational and time management skills., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills., • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently., • Creativity, enthusiasm, and a commitment to youth development., • Requirements:, • Ability to work 10-15 hours per week, the schedule is as follows., • Most be available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays,, • 4 pm -7 pm, and Saturdays, 9 am- 2 pm, • Successful completion of a background check., • Certification in First Aid and CPR preferred., • Fluency in other languages is a plus (particularly Haitian Creole). Hours/Wages/Benefits: Activity Specialists will be required to work April – June during after-school hours and Saturday mornings, plus additional hours for any required training and preparation. Position is paid at $30-$60 (based on qualifications) for 10-15 hours per week. GK also offers paid vacation time off, personal days, and sick time. We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT) to provide individualized, mandate-based services to students in primarily Brooklyn but other boroughs may vary. SEIT will deliver instructional and behavioral support aligned with the student’s IEP/IESP goals, collaborate with school staff and related service providers, and document progress consistently. This is a 5-hour per week mandate in a supportive school setting. Duties: Provide 1:1 and/or small-group SEIT services as outlined in the student’s mandate and IEP/IESP. Through live events and targeted programming, The Dinner Table Doc has engaged thousands of students nationwide, creating affirming spaces for young women to define success on their own terms. About the Role: We are seeking a Workshop Instructor to lead after-school programming for middle school girls in Brooklyn from January–June 2026. This role includes one weekly workshop session and one weekly prep/planning session. Training and onboarding begin in January 2026.
