Job Description Schedule: Typically 1 hour per week for 10 weeks (after school) Location: On-site at a partner high school; varies by assignment Start Date: Rolling openings based on school schedules Position Overview Concorde Education is seeking an engaging, student-centered 3D Design Instructor to facilitate a short-format after-school enrichment course for students. This course introduces learners to foundational 3D design concepts using Tinkercad, a browser-based 3D modeling platform. Students build spatial reasoning and design thinking skills by creating, modifying, and combining 3D shapes to produce original digital models. This is an enrichment course focused on hands-on learning and iterative design. The instructor will deliver instruction one day per week for approximately one hour across a typical 10-week cycle, with pacing adapted to student needs and site logistics. What You Will Teach Students will learn the fundamentals of 3D design in Tinkercad, including shape creation, resizing/scaling, alignment, grouping and combining objects, measurement and proportion, and exporting designs for 3D printing. Instruction emphasizes practical design challenges that support spatial thinking, creativity, and problem-solving. Major Topics Can Include • Navigating Tinkercad (workspace, view controls, basic tools), • Creating and editing 3D shapes (move, rotate, scale), • Alignment, duplication, symmetry, and precision design, • Grouping, combining, and using “holes” for subtraction, • Measurement, dimensioning, and designing to constraints, • Iterative design process (draft, test, revise, improve), • File saving, exporting, and print-readiness basics (as applicable), • Introductory design thinking and prototyping workflows, • Responsible technology use and collaboration norms, • Deliver a 10-session course with clear objectives and engaging instruction in a computer-based classroom setting, • Teach students how to use Tinkercad to create original 3D designs, with appropriate scaffolds for varying skill levels, • Facilitate hands-on design challenges that build spatial reasoning and problem-solving skills, • Maintain a safe, inclusive classroom culture and support productive collaboration, • Communicate professionally with site staff and Concorde program contacts regarding attendance and session completion tracking, • Adapt pacing and activities to match student readiness while maintaining course outcomes, • Minimum of 60 college credits (or Associate degree in progress/completed), • Experience with or strong familiarity using Tinkercad and introductory 3D modeling concepts, • Interest and/or experience working with school-age students in structured learning environments, • Strong facilitation, communication, and classroom presence, • Reliable, punctual, and professional; able to follow school policies and program boundaries, • Comfort supporting students on Chromebooks or school-issued computers in a web-based design platform
