A Bakery Food Production Worker assists in the preparation, baking, packaging, and presentation of bakery products. This role ensures that all goods are produced efficiently, safely, and in accordance with quality standards and food safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Production & Baking

  • Prepare doughs, batters, fillings, and toppings according to recipes and production schedules
  • Operate mixers, ovens, proofers, dividers, and other bakery machinery
  • Portion, shape, and bake bread, pastries, and other baked goods
  • Monitor baking times, oven temperatures, and product consistency
  • Adjust recipes or equipment settings as needed to maintain quality
    Food Safety & Sanitation
  • Follow all food safety guidelines, including HACCP, GMPs, and allergen protocols
  • Maintain cleanliness of workstations, tools, and machinery
  • Properly store raw materials and finished products to prevent contamination
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
    Packaging & Labeling
  • Package baked goods according to company standards and customer requirements
  • Apply labels accurately, including ingredients, use-by dates, and batch codes
  • Inspect finished products for quality and consistency
    Inventory & Equipment
  • Assist with inventory control and restocking of ingredients
  • Report equipment malfunctions and assist with routine cleaning/maintenance
  • Track waste and report discrepancies in production output
    Teamwork & Communication
  • Work collaboratively with bakers, supervisors, and quality assurance staff
  • Follow daily production instructions and meet deadlines
  • Communicate effectively regarding ingredient shortages, quality issues, or safety concerns
    Qualifications:
  • Prior food production or bakery experience preferred (but not always required)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions
  • Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and adjusting recipes
  • Ability to lift 25–50 lbs and stand for long periods
  • Familiarity with food safety standards (training often provided)
