The Pastry Chef directs and coordinates all activities of the pastry kitchen, leads the pastry team, maintains established operational standards, rules, and guiding principles. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Supervise bakery operations and the flow of production to maintain efficient bakery production with consistent attention to detail, quality, and presentation, • Oversee use of standard recipes for all bakery and pastry items, • Develop dessert menus for restaurants, lodges, and special events in conjunction with the executive chef, • Create weekly employee schedules according to business needs and budget, • Assist in recruiting efforts for new employees and conduct employee evaluations, • Control food cost and waste through efficient production and rotation of product, • Able to work in any station during any meal period, managing work force and flow of service, • Assists Chef with monthly inventories, pricing, cost controls, and issuing of food for production, • Ensure financial targets are being met and all accounting SOP’s are being followed consistently, • Must have effective communication skills with other employees, management, and guests responding quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner, following up to ensure guest satisfaction, • Makes recommendations for maintenance, repair and upkeep of the kitchen, its equipment and other areas of the restaurant, • Hands on kitchen organization, label, dating and rotation of food product, cleaning, food preparation, and hot line work, • Is a integral part of ice cream and bulk shoulder season production for seasonal business levels, • Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: • Minimum 4+ years of pastry kitchen experience in a comparable food volume operation, • High school or equivalent education, • Broad range of pastry production experience, strong kitchen organization, productivity, and versatility, • Experience in supervising employees, • Able to stand for long periods of time, • Must be able to lift 50+lbs regularly, • Must be available and willing to work various hours, holidays, and weekends, • Must have Manager ServSafe or similar certification expected by the Health Department DATES OF EMPLOYMENT: • Year Round PAY: • DOE Deer Valley Resort is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Over time learning all food items to be able to assist in all food making. Maintaining grill cleanliness, cleaning and closing grill at end of day, making sure grill drawers are stocked with product. Ability to multitask if not busy and help with any prep or cleaning needed doing. This person must be able to interact with our customers in a warm and welcoming way, be able to work hard, have reliable transportation & be reliable. Starting hourly wage will depend on the person applying for the position. Qualifications and Skills Experience on a grill is highly coveted. Experience on a meat slicer is also coveted. Restaurant experience is required. Knife skills, food prep experience is coveted. Need to have a current food handlers permit. Experience in kitchen & restaurant environment is necessary.
