Job Summary:
Clinician will be responsible for a light caseload in assessing and providing general, and specific, treatment to individuals with emotional, mental, and/or substance abuse difficulties, including abuse of tobacco, alcohol, or other drugs. The Clinician’s role is to assist clients in their transition out of addiction and into recovery by providing effective therapeutic interventions, relevant educational skills and ample opportunities for meaningful client self-discovery. Clinician may also collaborate with their co-workers, as well as the Clinical Director, to provide specialized services to clients that may be involved with legal matters.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Compose a light caseload** (max. 4 clients)** consistent, and compliant, with regulations as set forth by HIPAA, OASAS, JCHAO, CARF, etc....
  • Execute client intake forms, level of care determinations, bio-psychosocial and involve family members in treatment (when authorized).
  • Utilize your knowledge of the dynamics of chemical dependency rehabilitation to supply resources that are available to the chemically dependent by highlighting the importance of self-help groups.
  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment(s) of the client’s needs, especially anonymity.
  • Based on assessment(s), create an effective treatment plan reflective of a client’s assessed needs and identify strengths to expand upon.
  • Initiates consultation with multi-disciplinary team regarding client assessment(s) and existing treatment plans.
  • Prepare for, and direct, client Utilization Reviews, as well as Quality Assurance reviews.
  • Communicate the client’s treatment process through reviewing assessment(s), while also ensuring that the quality of the services being provided meets established external and internal standards.
  • Perform ongoing analysis of client assessment(s) to provide proper service when needed and to be able to modify a treatment plan to reflect these changing needs.
  • Provide clients with links to other supportive services as identified in the assessment(s)
  • Preserve client records; ensuring documentation is compliant with regulatory agencies, insurance payors and internal reviews by Clinical Director.
  • Provides crisis intervention and management to patients, when needed.
  • Maintain working relationships with referral agencies, and other supportive services, to enable a comprehensive service provision to clients.
  • Performs other duties as defined by the Program's Clinical Director.

** Qualifications:**
  • Must have the ability to commute as this is an on-site position located in 11968; if planning to relocate, relocation must be done before starting work (Required)
  • Must demonstrate a knowledgebase upon which you will be able to provide a direct service and clinical advisement for your patients.
  • Must be a growth-oriented person willing to set and work toward professional goals.
  • Must demonstrate good emotional stability, maturity, warmth and openness.
  • Must be excellent with time management and organizational skills
  • Must possess the ability to work independently with minimal supervision


** Education:**
  • Required to have at least 1 year experience in the Addiction Field of Mental Health.
  • Required to possess the appropriate credentials such as Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor Counselor (CASAC), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT).
