Job Description About Us: We Love Bread Cafe is a family owned cafe located in the heart of Nyack's business district. At We Love Bread Cafe, we are focused on providing foods that are baked daily from scratch with fresh ingredients. We specialize in sourdough breads, focaccia sandwiches and quiches, in addition to Brazilian inspired baked goods including pão de queijo and empanadas. Overview We are seeking a skilled and passionate Baker to join our team. As a Baker, you will be responsible for creating a variety of baked goods, including sourdough breads, focaccia, quiche, empanadas and pão de queijo. You will play a crucial role in our food production process, ensuring that all items meet our high standards of quality and taste. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry and a strong understanding of food safety and handling practices. Duties • Work alongside the Head Baker to prepare and bake a wide range of products, including breads, empanadas, quiche, pão de queijo, cookies, and more., • Manage the entire baking process, from ingredient preparation to final product., • Prepare all necessary ingredients and materials for baking., • Scale and shape all breads, loaves, etc., • Follow recipes and adjust ingredients as necessary to ensure consistent quality., • Operate baking equipment such as ovens, mixers, and proofers safely and efficiently., • Oversee daily kitchen production and operations., • Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and communicate clearly about inventory needs when necessary., • Receive, stock, and store food supplies in an organized manner., • Maintain accurate records of production, usage, and waste., • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the baking area to comply with food safety standards., • Perform sanitization procedures and maintain a clean kitchen and workstation., • Inform supervisors of any equipment malfunctions or low food supplies., • Proven experience as a Baker or in a similar role within the food production or restaurant industry., • Strong knowledge of baking methods (production, mixing and baking process itself)., • Familiarity with food handling regulations and safety practices., • Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely, including knives and mixers., • Excellent attention to detail with a passion for creating high-quality baked goods., • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness., • Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings or weekends as needed. • Resume (i.e previous experience, etc), • Phone Number, • Availability
