Retail

2 hours ago43 views

SelesTeres is a Queens-based handcrafted skincare and self-care brand, and we are looking for a reliable, personable, energetic, and sales-oriented Market Sales Representative to independently represent our brand at farmers markets, pop-ups, and community events throughout NYC.
This is more than simply standing behind a table. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with people, learning about products, recommending the right options, and turning conversations into sales while creating a warm and memorable customer experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Independently operate and represent the SelesTeres booth at assigned markets and events
  • Pick up inventory and market equipment from our Whitestone, Queens studio when required
  • Transport products, tables, displays, signage, and other setup materials to the market
  • Set up and break down the complete market booth
  • Create and maintain a clean, organized, attractive product display
  • Warmly greet and actively engage shoppers
  • Introduce customers to SelesTeres and communicate our brand story
  • Learn our products, ingredients, uses, current promotions, and key selling points
  • Help customers select products based on their preferences and needs
  • Confidently explain and sell our handcrafted soaps, tallow skincare, body butters, scrubs, oils, lip care, fragrances, and other self-care products
  • Naturally upsell and cross-sell complementary products
  • Process customer purchases and checkout accurately
  • Monitor inventory and maintain accurate product counts
  • Follow market-day procedures and provide sales/inventory information after each event
  • Pack the booth carefully after the market and return inventory/equipment when required
  • Represent SelesTeres in a professional, warm, trustworthy, and polished manner

Transportation Requirement

A valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle are required for this position.
You must be comfortable driving to market locations throughout NYC and, when scheduled, picking up and returning inventory and market equipment from our Whitestone studio.
Your vehicle must have enough space to safely transport products and necessary market setup materials.

Who We’re Looking For

You may be a great fit if you are:

  • Friendly, outgoing, and genuinely comfortable speaking with new people
  • Confident in sales and comfortable approaching shoppers rather than waiting for them to approach you
  • Reliable and extremely punctual
  • Responsible and able to work independently without constant supervision
  • Professional in appearance and communication
  • Organized and attentive to details
  • Comfortable learning about skincare products and explaining them to customers
  • Able to follow established sales scripts, promotions, pricing, and market procedures
  • Comfortable handling products, inventory, payments, setup, and breakdown
  • Physically able to handle normal market setup and transport of tables, boxes, displays, and inventory
  • Available for weekend and early-morning work

Previous experience in sales, retail, beauty/skincare, farmers markets, pop-ups, events, or customer service is strongly preferred.

Schedule

This is a part-time, event-based position.
Most markets take place on Saturdays and/or Sundays, and some require early-morning setup. Additional seasonal markets, special events, and pop-ups may also become available.
Because market schedules can vary, some flexibility with weekend availability is important.

What Matters Most to Us

We are looking for someone we can eventually trust to be the face of SelesTeres at a market independently.
The right person will not simply watch the booth. You will actively welcome customers, understand what they are looking for, confidently recommend products, explain promotions, encourage sales, keep the display beautiful, and make each shopper feel genuinely welcomed.
If you are dependable, enjoy working with people, have a natural ability to sell, and would enjoy representing a growing handcrafted skincare brand, we would love to hear from you.
Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle required. Weekend and early-morning availability required.
