The St. Paul Park Refinery has a full-time opening for a Rotating Equipment Mechanic. This position works Monday – Thursday, 6:30 am to 5:00 pm. Off hour overtime may be required. The Rotating Equipment Mechanic’s main job duties are to perform job tasks that maintain the refinery’s critical pumps, compressors, blowers, etc. along with other duties and projects as assigned. Pump mechanic and millwright training will be provided as needed per candidate skill level. The company does not train on inside machinist skills. Candidates will be required to pass a competency test, which includes a written test and a machinist skills demonstration. • Written Test: Assesses candidate knowledge and skills with power tools, rigging, scaffolding, lubrication, mechanical seals, gaskets, metallurgy, tubing and fitting, pipe threading, torches, fasteners, presses, cutting tools, and hand tools., • Machinist Skills Demonstration: Consists of manual machining a pump shaft that has an external thread, keyway, and (2) mic dimensions candidate must machine.
