Gansevoort Meatpacking NYC | New York, NY Gansevoort Meatpacking NYC is seeking an experienced Director of Housekeeping to lead all housekeeping operations for our luxury lifestyle hotel in the heart of Manhattan's Meatpacking District. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, guest satisfaction, team development, and operational excellence throughout the property. The successful candidate will have extensive experience managing unionized housekeeping teams in a luxury hotel environment and a proven ability to lead large, diverse teams while balancing service, labor, and financial objectives. What You'll Do • Lead all Housekeeping operations, including guest rooms, public areas, overnight cleaning, laundry operations, and pool attendants., • Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest satisfaction throughout the property., • Recruit, train, coach, develop, and motivate housekeeping leaders and hourly team members., • Manage labor costs, productivity, scheduling, payroll, inventories, and departmental budgets., • Conduct daily inspections, VIP room inspections, and operational walkthroughs., • Partner closely with Front Office, Engineering, Food & Beverage, Sales, and Executive Leadership teams., • Maintain compliance with all company policies, safety standards, and brand service expectations., • Drive employee engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement within the department., • Oversee departmental purchasing, inventory control, and capital planning. Qualifications • Minimum 5 years of Housekeeping leadership experience within a luxury hotel environment., • Previous experience as Director of Housekeeping, Executive Housekeeper, or Assistant Director of Housekeeping is required., • Direct experience managing a unionized housekeeping operation is required., • HTC Local 6 union experience is required., • Demonstrated experience interpreting and administering collective bargaining agreements, handling grievances, participating in labor-management discussions, and managing staffing within a union environment., • Strong financial acumen with experience managing departmental budgets, labor costs, productivity, and payroll., • Experience leading large multilingual teams., • Proficiency with Opera PMS and Microsoft Office applications., • Exceptional communication, leadership, coaching, and organizational skills., • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as business needs require.
