We are seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join our construction teams in Hyde Park, NY and Poughkeepsie, NY. If you're dependable, safety-focused, and ready to work on high-impact construction projects, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, loaders, and other heavy machinery on active construction sites.
- Follow project plans, site layouts, and supervisor instructions.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment.
- Comply with all safety protocols and procedures.
- Coordinate with site teams to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
- Perform land clearing, excavation, grading, trenching, backfilling, and soil compaction.
- Assist with the installation of underground utilities (water, sewer, drainage, electrical).
- Load, unload, and stage construction materials; operate hand tools and small equipment.
- Support equipment operators and site crews as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite.
- Follow OSHA and company safety standards, including proper use of PPE.
Qualifications for Heavy Equipment Operators:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience operating heavy construction equipment.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification required.
- Knowledge of site safety, excavation standards, and operational procedures.
- Ability to read site plans and work well within a team environment.
- Valid certifications for equipment operation (preferred).
- CDL a plus, but not required.
- Must have reliable transportation.
Qualifications for Construction Site Laborers:
- Previous construction or site work experience required.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor conditions.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to take direction from supervisors.
- Safety-minded with a willingness to work as part of a team.
