Job Title: Experienced Tailor / Seamstress (Alterations Specialist) – Commission Based Location: Brooklyn, NY Schedule: Monday – Saturday Start Date: Immediate Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tailor / Seamstress specializing in garment alterations. The ideal candidate has extensive experience measuring, cutting, and altering high-end garments with precision and care. This role requires strong knowledge of garment construction and the ability to work with luxury fabrics and detailed tailoring techniques. This is a commission-based position, ideal for a professional tailor who is confident in their craft, detail-oriented, and ready to begin work immediately. Responsibilities: • Perform precise alterations on high-end garments, • Accurately measure clients and mark garments for alterations, • Cut, sew, and finish garments while maintaining original design integrity, • Work with delicate, luxury, and specialty fabrics, • Ensure proper fit and high-quality finishing for all garments, • Maintain organized workspace and alteration tools, • Several years of professional tailoring or seamstress experience, • Strong expertise in garment construction and alterations, • Experience working with high-end or designer garments preferred, • Background working with a reputable tailoring company, fashion house, or alterations company, • Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship, • Ability to work independently and manage multiple garments at once, • Commission-based pay structure
