Fairstead is seeking an Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable (AR/AP) Intern to join our Finance Team for the summer. This internship offers hands-on exposure to day-to-day accounting operations within a dynamic and fast-paced real estate environment. The intern will work closely with the accounting team to support AR/AP functions, gain insight into financial systems and processes, and develop practical accounting skills. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in pursuing a career in accounting or finance. Responsibilities • Assist with accounts payable processing, including invoice review, coding, and data entry., • Support accounts receivable activities such as tracking payments, applying cash receipts, and resolving discrepancies., • Perform vendor and customer account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness., • Assist with month-end close activities related to AR/AP, including reconciliations and supporting schedules., • Help maintain accurate vendor and customer records in accounting systems., • Respond to internal and external inquiries related to invoices, payments, and account balances., • Assist with ad hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by the accounting team., • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field., • Basic understanding of accounting principles, particularly related to AR and AP., • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas; familiarity with Pivot Tables or VLOOKUP is a plus., • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills., • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment., • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a willingness to collaborate across teams.
