About You: This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences’ RESPECT Service System. About the Opportunity: The successful Deckhand is responsible to maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the vessel, ensuring guest comfort and safety while underway, and assisting with docking and undocking. Crewmembers must uphold the strictest safety standards for guests and crew, and will maintain a professional and friendly manner consistent with the RESPECT Service System. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Provide exceptional hospitality to guests and coworkers as prescribed in the RESPECT Service System Follow safety procedures in order to ensure the protection of passengers and vessel Participate in routine safety drills to prepare for major incidents Handle lines to moor vessels to pier Stand watch in ships' bows, sterns, or bridge wings in order to look for obstructions in a ship's path or to locate navigational aids such as buoys and lighthouses Assist Captain and supervisory personnel in maintain vessel equipment and systems such as HVAC, engine, and technical equipment Maintain the cleanliness and safety of all common areas Sweep, mop, and wash down decks and exterior to remove dirt, and debris, using brooms, mops, brushes, and hoses Load or unload materials from vessels; gather and remove trash from vessel Service, clean, and supply restrooms Be prepared to begin work at scheduled time. Maintain uniform and personal grooming in compliance with appearance standards Other duties as assigned by the Captain or First Mate on duty. Required to throw mooring lines from ship to pier. Must have normal color vision to accurately interpret navigational lights and color-sensitive system and safety displays. Our Brooklyn based not for profit Community Center is currently seeking a full time Handyman. Under the supervision and direction of the Facilities Manager, the Handyman’s main duty is to assist in the overall maintenance of the building and grounds. He/she would be responsible for basic building repairs such as plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, electrical and HVAC and to other building related maintenance and repair. Duties: Perform repairs and standard maintenance on equipment associated with buildings, grounds, fixtures, machinery, HVAC, electrical and plumbing and work with outside vendors as necessary. Ensures that these tasks are completed and closed out in a timely manner. Perform basic carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical duties as may be needed for the maintenance of the building and grounds and/or in support of program and service departments of the Center. Complete preventative and scheduled maintenance work orders. Provide assistance to porters and cleaners as needed. Perform other related duties, as assigned. As a Crunch Franchise team member, it is a violation of our conflict of interest policy to conduct personal training sessions or perform any person training-related duties independently or at any company outside of Crunch Franchise. This includes working as an employee or independent contractor for another health club, personal training studio or private residence, or engaging in any other activities that represent a conflict of interest for Crunch Franchise.
