Job Description PossibleNOW has an immediate opening for an SQL Database Administrator (Level 3). This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join a successful, growing technology organization. About the Role We’re looking for a skilled Level 3 SQL Database Administrator to provide operational database services across the organization. In this role, you’ll take ownership of database reliability, performance, and security—responding to incidents, managing maintenance, and ensuring systems meet established SLAs in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment. You’ll work closely with internal technology teams, proactively address issues, support production deployments, and help define best practices that keep our databases running smoothly. What You’ll Do Daily Responsibilities • Maintain and optimize existing SQL Server databases, • Manage backup and restore processes, • Install, configure, and upgrade SQL Server environments, • Monitor databases, backups, and scheduled jobs for failures, • Respond to database alerts, incidents, and escalations, • Tune performance using execution plans, SQL Profiler, and third-party tools, • Design and maintain database schemas, queries, triggers, constraints, and indexes, • Ensure data integrity and security through roles and permissions, • Support production deployments and monthly patching, • Perform disaster recovery planning and testing, • Create and maintain ERD diagrams, • Document DBA processes and procedures, • Provide timely responses to tickets, emails, calls, IMs, and other communications Periodic Responsibilities • Participate in on-call rotation (nights and weekends), • Perform scheduled weekend maintenance (rotational), • Mentor and train new and existing staff, • Maintain current certifications and continue professional development What You Bring Education • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Experience • 2–5 years of Microsoft SQL Server administration experience, • Experience supporting databases in a 24/7 production environment, • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and projects, • Detail-oriented, results-driven mindset Technical Skills • SQL Server 2019+, • Strong T-SQL skills (stored procedures, triggers, constraints, indexes), • SSIS / ETL development experience, • Database tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning, • High Availability technologies (Clustering, Mirroring, Replication, Temporal Tables), • Query Store and Change Data Capture (CDC), • Familiarity with Redgate SQL Monitor (plus), • PowerShell, .NET, and Windows Server knowledge (pluses) Soft Skills • Excellent problem-solving ability, • Strong communication skills, • Effective time management, • Commitment to best practices and operational excellence Certifications (Preferred) • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), • Microsoft Certified Master (MCSM), • Microsoft MCP Company Background PossibleNOW, located in Duluth, offers a pleasant, casual working environment where collaboration and expertise are valued.
