Job Description Job Title Machinist/Programmer Department Production Position Type Full Time/Hourly/Non-Exempt Reports To Plant Manager Working Hours Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm Job Responsibilities: • Develop and write CNC programs using G-code or CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, EspritCAM, SolidWorks, Autodesk Fusion 360, Bobcad, GibbsCAM) based on technical blueprints and 3D CAD models., • Setting up and programming some of the highest end machine tools available, such as Okuma, Makino, DMG MORI, & DN Solutions, • Working inside a variety of different CNC controls, such as FANUC, Okuma OSP, Pro 5/6, and Siemens., • Select appropriate cutting tools, machining strategies, and parameters such as feed rates and spindle speeds., • Reading and interpreting technical blueprints & drawings using GD&T, CAD/CAM files, and design specifications to ensure accurate machining of components., • Create setup sheets and provide detailed instructions and training for CNC Machine Operators, • Monitor machine operations, make tool wear offsets as needed, and troubleshoot issues to maintain quality standards., • Load raw materials into CNC machines and set up tools for machining operations., • Using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, gage blocks, gage pins, etc., to ensure the accuracy of your work., • Holding tolerances down to .0005", • Strong technical skills in mathematics, blueprint reading, GD&T attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication for teamwork are required., • Vocational school, apprenticeship, or Machine Tool Technology associate degree preferred., • Experienced using CAD/CAM Programming software such as Esprit, MasterCAM, Autodesk Fusion, • Experience with Fanuc, OSP, or Siemens controls are a plus!, • Experience programming & setting up 3-4 axis machining centers required. 5-axis are a plus!, • Experience programming & setting up mill-turn / multitasking machines such as an Okuma Multus/Mazak Integrex/Mori NT/NTX/CTX are a plus!, • High School graduate or G.E.D. program, • Successfully pass drug screening, • Ability to collect data, define problems, establish facts, and draw a valid conclusion., • Demonstrated ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation., • Demonstrated ability to perform shop math functions, including trigonometry., • Understanding of company Quality Policy and fundamentals of ISO 9001, • Ability to work with deadlines., • Good organizational skills, • Solid communication skills at all levels of the organization (written and oral), • Speak, read, and write English., • Ability to use the latest technology/software provided by the company., • A precise attention to detail, • Must have excellent sense of priorities and a self-motivator., • Must adhere to all OSHA safety rules and regulations., • Physical Demands:, • Stand, walk, push, pull, climb stairs and ladders, reach overhead and bend to the floor., • Exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or exert up to 10 pounds of force frequently., • Ability to safely lift 50 pounds., • Senses: Visual (basic color perception, peripheral and depth perception, close vision of 20 inches or less, distance vision of more than 20 feet). Required for reading blueprints and any required customer documentation., • Hearing: Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action., • Visual: Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts., • Working Environment/Conditions:, • Subject to moderate to high noise levels from operating machines, • Physical hazards are being exposed to moving equipment and machine parts., • Breathing fumes, dust, and mist, • Skin exposure to oils and cutting fluid., • May be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws., • Fanatical About Precision - We build correct and efficient processes, and we execute them with relentless accuracy.
