Role Description This is a full-time on-site role located in Brooklyn, NY. The Aquarist & Animal Handler will be responsible for the daily care and maintenance of aquatic life and other animals, including feeding, tank maintenance, water quality monitoring, and health assessments of animals. Additional responsibilities may include setting up and dismantling aquariums, maintaining cleanliness of animal habitats, assisting with customer education about animal care, and supporting the handling and relocation of animals when necessary. You also have to be able to use a POS system that is how are register works. Stocking shelves when needed. Everyone here does a little of all departments Qualifications • A passion for working with live animals, • 2 years minimum cashier experience, • Need to be familiar with a POS system; be able to handle a cash register, • Knowledge in Fish care, Aquariums, and Aquaculture practices; even Reptile habitats *plus, • Strong observational skills to monitor animal health and behavior, • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and perform physical tasks, • Work hours, including weekends and holidays, as necessary, • Previous experience in a similar role or in the pet supply or aquatic care industry *plus *plus= will be a value to our team
