Job DescriptionJob Title: Sanitation Supervisor Job Description The Sanitation Supervisor leads nightly sanitation operations in a food manufacturing facility, ensuring all activities meet regulatory standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs). This role oversees pre-operational inspections, implements corporate sanitation policies, coordinates closely with Maintenance and Operations, and manages a sanitation team on a third-shift schedule. The supervisor ensures accurate documentation, supports cross-functional collaboration, and maintains a clean, safe, and compliant production environment. Responsibilities • Monitor nightly sanitation activities and conduct thorough visual inspections to ensure all areas meet cleanliness and safety standards., • Oversee pre-operational inspections and verify that all equipment and production areas comply with SSOP requirements before startup., • Implement and enforce corporate sanitation policies and procedures across the facility., • Maintain and update the master sanitation schedule and develop sanitation procedures for new equipment as needed., • Coordinate sanitation needs and schedules with Maintenance and Operations to support efficient production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers., • Manage shift schedules for the sanitation team, including assignments, training, breaks, and coverage to ensure adequate staffing at all times., • Conduct performance reviews for new hires and provide ongoing feedback to support their development., • Coordinate production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers to align sanitation activities with production requirements., • Communicate staffing needs and personnel updates with Human Resources to support recruitment and scheduling., • Lead shift meetings to discuss safety, performance expectations, and operational priorities with the sanitation team., • Ensure proper completion, documentation, and filing of sanitation records in accordance with company and regulatory requirements., • Act as backup for supervised employees when necessary, assisting with hands-on sanitation tasks to maintain workflow., • Maintain regular communication with other supervisors, the Quality Manager, and the Managing Director to align sanitation activities with quality and operational goals., • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, GMPs, and SSOPs through consistent oversight and corrective actions when needed., • Train, guide, and coach sanitation personnel to follow procedures, use equipment safely, and maintain high performance standards.Essential Skills, • 3–5 years of experience supervising sanitation in a food manufacturing environment (required)., • Demonstrated ability to oversee sanitation processes and ensure compliance with regulatory standards, GMPs, and SSOPs., • Proven experience leading and managing a sanitation team in a production setting., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation, reporting, and communication., • Experience working with ERP systems to support scheduling, recordkeeping, and operational coordination., • Ability to train, guide, and develop sanitation personnel to maintain consistent performance and adherence to procedures., • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and organizational levels., • Ability to work third shift (4:00 PM – 1:30 AM, Monday–Friday) with flexibility for occasional Saturday work., • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience working in a union environment (preferred)., • Familiarity with third-party auditing processes and industry standards in food manufacturing., • Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams such as Maintenance, Operations, HR, and Quality., • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and schedules., • Detail-oriented approach to documentation, recordkeeping, and compliance., • Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment with shifting priorities.Why Work Here? The facility operates within a union environment, and the role requires close collaboration with Maintenance, Operations, HR, and Quality teams. Work is hands-on and fast-paced, with a strong focus on safety, cleanliness, and adherence to regulatory and company standards. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Lodi, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $80000.00/yr. As a Sanitation Supervisor, you will be responsible for monitoring nightly sanitation processes and conducting visual inspections. You will oversee pre-operational inspections to ensure compliance with SSOPs and implement corporate sanitation policies and procedures. Additionally, you will maintain and revise the master sanitation schedule and develop sanitation procedures for new equipment. Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Lodi,NJ.
