Job Description Hours: Full-time, Salaried Position Accountable To: Director of Events & Engagement Compensation: $45,000–$60,000 annually (commensurate with experience and qualifications). Position Description: The Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to strengthening the local business community through advocacy, economic development efforts, workforce initiatives, and member engagement. As the Events & Engagement Coordinator, you'll help bring that mission to life by planning events, supporting marketing initiatives, and creating meaningful experiences that connect and engage our members. No two days are the same, you'll collaborate with Chamber staff, members, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners while helping deliver programs that make a lasting impact. What You’ll Do: Events: • Independently plan, coordinate, market, and execute assigned Chamber programs and events under the direction of the Director of Events & Engagement., • Assist Chamber staff in the planning, coordination, marketing, and execution of signature events, Board of Directors meetings, member engagement programs, workforce development initiatives, and Healthcare Association events., • Develop and implement event marketing through email campaigns, social media, website updates, digital promotions, and other communication channels., • Maintain event calendars, registration systems, and attendee communications., • Coordinate sponsor fulfillment and communicate with internal teams to ensure sponsor benefits are delivered., • Collect and evaluate attendee and sponsor feedback to identify opportunities for continuous improvement., • Provide administrative and logistical support for Chamber departments, special projects, and other organizational initiatives as assigned., • Assigned events may include, but are not limited to: Leadership Labs, Real Estate Roundtables, Board of Directors meetings, Power Networking Lunches, Business After Hours, Women Connect, Manufacturing Society, Human Resource Council, LAUNCH, Healthcare Association events, Annual Meeting, Celebration of Excellence, Evening & Economics, State of the County, Boulder Dash, State of the Schools, Annual Golf Tournament, and Transportation Summit. Marketing & Communications • Develop and schedule email marketing campaigns., • Create and publish social media content promoting Chamber events., • Update website event pages and registration information., • Design graphics and promotional materials using Canva., • Support digital advertising and other promotional initiatives. What We’re Looking For: The ideal candidate will demonstrate: • Initiative by identifying opportunities to improve processes, anticipating team needs, taking ownership of assigned projects., • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines., • Excellent verbal and written communication skills., • A positive, professional attitude and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service., • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow projects from start to finish., • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment., • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with members, sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and community partners., • Creativity and enthusiasm for planning events and promoting Chamber programs., • Comfort learning new technology and software applications., • The ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when representing the Chamber., • Flexibility to work occasionally early mornings, evenings, and weekends for Chamber events. Technology Skills: Experience with or the ability to learn: • Microsoft 365, • Canva, • Social media platforms, • AI productivity and content creation tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) to support content development, brainstorming, research, and workflow efficiency, • Adobe Creative Suite (preferred), • Basic photography and videography (preferred) Qualifications: • Two years of experience in event planning, marketing, customer service, hospitality, nonprofit organizations, or a related field preferred. Internship, volunteer, or campus leadership experience will also be considered., • This position is based in our Cumming, GA office and requires regular attendance at Chamber events, including occasional mornings, evenings, and weekends., • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills., • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with Canva, email marketing platforms, social media, or CRM/Association Management Systems is a plus., • Basic knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing best practices., • Demonstrated customer service skills and the ability to build positive relationships with members, sponsors, vendors, and community partners., • Ability to manage budgets and maintain accurate financial records for assigned events., • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record., • Must successfully complete pre-employment background, drug, alcohol, and skills testing, as required by Chamber policy Benefits At the Forsyth County Chamber, you'll do more than coordinate events and marketing, you'll help create experiences that strengthen our business community and make a lasting impact.
