Lead the advancement efforts for the College of Science and Mathematics at Fresno State, driving philanthropic support to enhance student success, faculty research, and community outreach initiatives. Here's a little about the College of Science and Mathematics at Fresno State University and the position they are recruiting for: The College of Science and Mathematics prepares future scientists, mathematicians, teachers, health professionals, and researchers to tackle real-world challenges in STEM fields. With over 4,500 student majors, the college offers innovative laboratory research, fieldwork, and community-based learning experiences across seven departments and specialized centers like the STEM Education Center and the Downing Planetarium. Faculty engage in cutting-edge research, resulting in numerous publications and conference presentations each year, focusing on areas such as cancer treatment, biotechnology, cybersecurity, and environmental science. With 108 full-time faculty members securing over $5M annually in grants, the college aims to enhance student success, community outreach, and partnerships through the recruitment of innovative staff and scholars and the establishment of state-of-the-art facilities. Ultimately, the college seeks to serve as a national model for integrating teaching and research in STEM education while leading educational outreach and community service efforts at regional and state levels. Learn more about the College of Science and Mathematics: • Serve as a member of the College of Science and Mathematics leadership team., • Partner with the Dean of the College of Science and Mathematics to achieve annual, major gift, and campaign fundraising goals., • Collaborate with the Vice President for University Advancement, AVP for Development and Comprehensive Campaigns, and other senior administrators to identify funding priorities and align philanthropic strategy with institutional objectives. Portfolio & Major Gift Fundraising, • Manage a qualified portfolio of major gift prospects., • Develop and implement individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies., • Conduct discovery and qualification visits to assess philanthropic partner capacity, interest, and alignment., • Prepare and present compelling proposals; negotiate and close major gifts., • Maintain active moves management and participate in regular portfolio reviews., • Partner with senior administrators and key colleagues on strategies and proposals for blended and principal-level gifts., • Translate student and enrollment needs into compelling investment opportunities. Philanthropic Partner Stewardship & Engagement, • Ensure consistent and meaningful stewardship of philanthropic partners to promote long-term engagement and retention., • Engage volunteer leaders and boards in support of divisional fundraising priorities., • Support or participate in events designed to identify, cultivate, and steward philanthropic partners.Campaign & Annual Giving Support, • Contribute to comprehensive and mini-campaign planning and execution., • Collaborate with the Annual Giving team on college-based solicitations and special initiatives, such as the annual Day of Giving., • Support campaign volunteer strategy and engagement efforts. Reporting & Systems, • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of fundraising activity in the University's CRM system., • Forecast pipeline activity and revenue projections. What you will bring:, • Bachelor's degree required from a regionally accredited institution., • Minimum of four years of progressively responsible and successful fundraising experience or professional experience in sales, marketing, public relations, or related fields with demonstrated transferable skills., • Demonstrated track record in working with individuals and groups and ability to work as a member of a team., • Appreciation of the importance of education to individuals and society., • Demonstrated success in building relationships and securing philanthropic support or comparable revenue outcomes. Preferred Qualifications:, • Master's or other advanced degree preferred., • Academic background, professional experience, or demonstrated interest in the sciences preferred, though not required., • Experience in higher education fundraising., • Experience working with nonprofit organizations and volunteer boards., • Immerse yourself: Being on campus allows you to enjoy renowned sporting events, artist events, world-renowned speakers.
