ABOUT THIS ROLE The role of a Security Officer with Wawona Frozen Foods will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our company and its employees, customers, and visitors. You will enforce security protocols, monitor surveillance equipment, and respond to incidents as necessary to ensure the protection of assets and personnel. This position will report to the Security Manager. DUTIES INCLUDE • Active participation in Wawona Frozen Foods safety program to maintain a healthy and injury-free environment., • Participate in training and company meetings to facilitate individual and company growth., • Follow all GMP, HAACP, Food Safety, Food Defense, and SQF policies and procedures., • Monitor surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and other security equipment to detect and deter suspicious activity., • Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to ensure security and identify potential security and safety risks., • Control access to the premises by verifying identification, issuing visitor badges, and ensuring compliance with security procedures., • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other individuals to maintain security and prevent unauthorized access., • Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, and other security-related incidents., • Investigate and report on incidents or other irregularities, documenting findings and taking appropriate action as necessary., • Maintain readiness to respond to emergency situations, including fires, medical emergencies, or security breaches., • Implement emergency response protocols and coordinate with external emergency services as needed., • Provide assistance and guidance to employees, customers, and visitors regarding security procedures, directions, and general inquiries., • Handle inquiries and complaints in a professional and courteous manner, escalating issues to management when necessary., • Enforce company security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards., • Conduct security checks of personnel, vehicles, and belongings to prevent theft, vandalism, or unauthorized possession of items in violation of policy., • Prepare detailed reports on security incidents, observations, and activities, maintaining accurate records for documentation and analysis., • Complete daily activity reports, incident reports, and other administrative tasks as required., • Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time, with or without notice. REQUIREMENTS • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in security or law enforcement is preferred., • Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state and county licensing requirements for Security Officers or Proprietary Security Officer., • Sound judgment and decision-making abilities, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to assess and respond to security risks., • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and good time management skills., • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals in various situations., • Physical fitness and the ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, as well as lift and carry objects as needed., • Knowledge with security equipment, such as surveillance cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems., • A strong work ethic and a "can do" attitude., • Self-motivated and self-starter., • Ability to create and support team morale., • Ability to identify and resolve complex issues., • Must possess a valid California driver's license. LOCATION • This position will work out of our Cedar or Alluvial location. Occasionally requested to sit and talk or hear., • A fast-paced environment that requires high attention to details and minimal down time., • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds., • Work flexible/varying schedules to support the team., • Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus., • Adhere to dress code as outlined for working as a Security Officer., • Must be physically fit to respond quickly to incidents. This includes running, walking, climbing stairs, and maintaining balance during patrols.
