ZYMVOL® is a biotech company specialized in the design, development and application of molecular modeling software in the discovery and development of industrial enzymes. We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Molecular Modeler to join our team. The position is based at our Headquarters in Barcelona. Responsibilities • Take ownership of early-phase projects in enzyme discovery and optimization, providing computational insights to guide experimental strategies., • Apply state-of-the-art computational chemistry methods to solve biological and enzymatic challenges., • Integrate emerging computational approaches such as protein structure elucidation, AI-driven protein design, and predictive modeling into our existing method portfolio., • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to achieve project milestones., • Develop and automate computational workflows using Python, C++, or similar tools., • Maintain and develop a working knowledge of state-of-the-art computational chemistry methods and their application to enzyme discovery. Desired qualifications • PhD or 3+ years of experience in computational/theoretical chemistry, biophysics, computational biology, biotechnology, or related fields., • Strong expertise in molecular modeling of proteins/enzymes and application of molecular mechanics, quantum chemistry, and cheminformatics., • Solid understanding of physical chemistry, structural biochemistry, and enzymology., • Experience in related experimental approaches (e.g., metagenomics, directed evolution, mutagenesis) is a plus., • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams., • Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken., • Proficiency in UNIX/Linux environments and programming (Python, C++, or similar) for workflow automation., • Applicants must be eligible to live and work in the EU, • Note: It is not necessary to have specific knowledge on all the areas mentioned. We are looking above all for someone with strong intellectual and research skills, and a history of innovation and accomplishment. Nice-to-Have • Degree in Computational Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related scientific field., • Experience in biotech, life-sciences, or other technical/regulated industries.
