Benidorm
Second Chef Wanted – Learn the Mains. Amigos Restaurant and Al Fresco Dining, Benidorm Old Town We're a new, food-focused restaurant in the heart of Benidorm's Old Town, run by the team behind Amigos Restaurant & Roof Terrace. That restaurant built a reputation as the go-to place in Benidorm for special occasions, rated 4.8 out of 5 with over 2,500 five-star TripAdvisor reviews. Nine out of ten reviewers gave full marks. We already have a head chef. We're looking for an ambitious second chef to work alongside him, run the starters section, and learn our main dishes properly so you can cover his nights off and holidays. You don't need to be the finished article. If you've got solid kitchen experience, take pride in every plate and want to step up to cooking mains, we'll teach you. The right person will grow into a senior role here. We're not a high-volume operation and we don't want to be. The focus is food quality and great service: plates that go out right every time, to customers who come back. Hours that suit a life: full-time, evenings only. No split shifts, no early starts. Your mornings are genuinely your own. In a resort where most kitchen jobs eat your entire day, this one doesn't. What we offer: • Proper training on our mains, from the grill to the pass, by a working head chef, • A clear path from second chef to covering and then running the kitchen, • Refurbished, spacious, fully equipped kitchen with room to work, • Evenings only, no split shifts, mornings free, • Legal contract, holidays, tips and bonuses, • Relaxed al fresco dining, food-focused, no entertainment, • An established name and loyal customers from day one What we're looking for: • Experience as a cook or chef, with starters, prep or a section of your own, • A genuine wish to learn mains and move up, not just clock in, • Consistency and presentation that hold up on busy nights, • Takes ownership rather than waiting to be told, • Clean, organised kitchen and full food hygiene compliance, • Good spoken English, • Evening and weekend availability, • All paperwork in place (NIE, social security, right to work), • Two contactable references from previous employers Salary discussed at interview. Paid trial shift for shortlisted candidates. Send your CV, two contactable references and a short note telling us where you want to be as a chef in two years.
