About Northern Ecom Genies Northern Ecom Genies is a Spain-based subsidiary of a well-established Danish e-commerce company founded in 2014. Our mission is to support and strengthen key operational functions across the business, including purchasing, administration, customer service, marketing, finance, and other business-critical support tasks. We are now hiring our first employee in Spain. This is a unique opportunity to join at an early stage and play an important role in building efficient, high-quality support functions for a growing e-commerce business. You will work directly with the CEO and be expected to operate with a high level of independence, ownership, and responsibility. About the role We are looking for a structured, proactive, and highly self-driven person to support purchasing, product sourcing, and administrative operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, creating structure, improving workflows, and taking initiative without waiting to be told what to do. We already have a large and active product catalog with more than 10,000 existing products, so being organized and detail-oriented is essential. A large part of our current purchasing flow is already automated, and we expect automation to improve further over time. However, there will always be exceptions, issues, optimizations, and new opportunities that require a sharp and capable person to take ownership. The role is primarily remote, but we expect in-person workdays at a shared office in the Málaga / Fuengirola / Benalmádena area approximately 1–2 times per month. Key responsibilities • Support the purchasing of existing products and help manage day-to-day procurement-related tasks, • Handle unexpected issues related to stock, suppliers, orders, logistics, and product availability, • Identify opportunities to optimize existing inventory and purchasing terms, • Evaluate whether high-performing products can be sourced on better terms, in better quantities, or with improved shipping methods, • Research and identify new products with potential for the Nordic consumer market, • Help build better sourcing and purchasing processes over time, with a growing focus on new product sourcing, • Support ad hoc administrative and operational tasks when needed What we are looking for • You are highly structured and comfortable working with a large number of products and details, • You are a problem solver who can identify issues, make a plan, and execute it independently, • You take ownership of your work and do not need close day-to-day supervision, • You are proactive, initiative-driven, and experienced enough to work directly with leadership, • You speak and write English fluently, • You are comfortable working remotely while staying accountable and productive It is a plus if you have • Experience with sourcing, procurement, or trade involving suppliers in China, • Experience from e-commerce, product sourcing, operations, or inventory-related work, • Experience using AI tools or “vibe coding” to solve practical business tasks faster and smarter What we offer • A competitive salary (36-40K Euro a year), • A key position as the first hire in Spain, • Direct collaboration with the CEO, • A high degree of flexibility and responsibility, • A role with real ownership and influence, • The chance to help build and improve important parts of a growing e-commerce operation, • Primarily remote work, with occasional in-person workdays in the Málaga area How to apply Please send your CV in English together with a short application explaining why you are a strong fit for this role.
